This might be a strange question, but...

Sometimes i see the future, like what will happen, actually most my thoughts describe whats about to happen in my life, first i thought it was the LOA at work, but that did not hold water for long, and often I get information, well, maybe often is not the right word, but sometimes i get knowledge that I could not have gotten anyway but through psychic senses, more often then not it is things people think about, well telepathy is not so uncommon in these days...
So i was wondering... Omniscience(if thats how you spell it, but im sure you understand) is it something achievable? i mean, most people have heard that we are entering golden ages for what? the last fifty years, so i was thinking, we the humans are the result of most the problems in the world, so would not the logical step in our evolution be something on the inside, i dont think we would gain omnipotence because i dont think we are ready, but what about all knowing, after all, many traditions(i think) speak of us being one, like one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively or the law of one, where we are but expressions of one consciousness, well, what i meant to say was, if i can gain knowledge that i have not previously learned, is it then possible for someone to gain all knowledge, like using the mind as a kind of internet, just download the stuff that is relevant?

What would you get out of being omniscient?

Everything I guess, but I always like big ideas, like teleportation and the like, personally I dont know if I want to know everything, but it is still interesting to know if anyone has ever achieved it, the reason for this question is that last night I had a dream where one of the characters in the dream wanted to teach me French, and since I dont know French it started me thinking.

In Hinduism, these powers are called siddhis. It is said that those who desire the siddhis cannot attain them, while those who don't care in the least about them will possess them. They give too much power to those who would wield it for power's sake.

Seeing the future has been known for thousands of years. It is actually 2 separate abilities. Prophecy (most common) is looking at the current state of reality and more important its flows and influences. What is seen is the most probable future, that future can often be changed before it happens. The other (rare) is actually seeing a future time and events there. Once one Sees in this way those future events become part of the past (despite their future time stamp). To change those one needs to change the past.

First, it’s a VERY long way from seeing the future to omniscience. As all of us on the forums are still incarnate beings. none are qualified to answer this question for sure.

Can one know the future if man/woman has a free choice? I vaguely remember that God said in Neale Walsch's 'Conversations with God' that even He cannot know the future. Yet, Jesus said in 'A Course in Miracles' that everything kind of has already happened. You start with the end point in time and roll time back like a carpet to get to the now ... Any opinions on this confusing issue?

Certainly. You see what free choice was made. Do not confuse temporal (time) displacement with limiting free will. You don’t ask if people exercised free will in the past just because you know what they chose, no different.

Yes it is, according to Patanjali at least

Only from the awareness of the distinction between Sattva and Purusa arise supremacy over all states and forms of existence (omnipotence) and knowledge of every thing (omniscience).

Once one just sees the distinction between pure awareness and the luminous aspect of the phenomenal world, all conditions are known and mastered.

. When the spiritual man is perfectly disentangled from the psychic body, he attains to mastery over all things and to a knowledge of all.

And well, for you that say "I dont think we are ready yet for omnipotence" but do for omniscience, is basically the same. If you are omniscient you would know how to become omnipotent. At least in the absolute term of omniscience.

Anyway, I dont think we normally can get full omniscient in the physical body, maybe if you got a body suited for those attributes by modifying the physical body. I think the physical body has a filter, ergo you cant put 1 billion watts in a bulb suited for 20.

Sorry, heard of but not familiar with the Course in Miracles. Could someone else answer this or say what this time carpet is.

Well, what I mean to say is that many thing are intuitive to me, take teleportation, when I was a child i meditated on teleportation and could see the location I desired to travel to through what appeared to be a key hole, then later, I found a book on teleportation that says that it is common in the beginning of a teleporters journey to see the location desired to travel to through a key hole, personally I dont think these big thoughts do much for me, but then again I like dreaming, as for what you say about the siddhis, I kind of already guessed it, at any rate I dont care to much for super powers, but I am curious about our potential as a specie, me I like to think that most things are possible.
