| I'm pretty sure 'meditating' with your eyes open is called 'daydreaming' haha. I like meditating with my eyes closed because it allows me to shut off from the outside world. It's quite a welcome relief considering these last few months..

The point to closing your eyes is to not get distracted by the world. I actually really like to meditate both ways, but I'm good at ignoring my environment. I use eye-open often if I'm doing witness meditation because it allows me to carry that witness attitude with me after I get up. I use eye-closed often if I'm doing surrendering of thoughts because it allows me to get to a very empty place where nothing exists, only emptiness. But experiment and find what helps you personally go deepest. | |
