Default Steve Job's last words.

I am sure, most of you people would know this by now. His last words were "OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW". Apparently, while reading this I got to know that Edison's last words were " it is very beautiful over there.”

I am very curios to know, why these people would have said it. Any thoughts?

Maybe dying consciously is a beautiful experience?

Quote:
If you can be a witness to your body and mind, you will be able to see before you die – almost six months before – that now you are going to die. Six months before, the body starts disintegrating inside. You and the body start loosening, separating, falling apart. It takes almost six months to bring the process to a completion. But exactly three days before, one can say the hour, the minute, the second. Exactly three days before, something clicks inside and one is ready to die.

If you have lived rightly, fully aware, you will be able to know when your death is coming. Right now you are not even aware of life, that it has come. Then you will even be aware of death, the footsteps of death. You will be able to hear the subtle sound coming closer and closer and closer.

Right now you cannot even live, and then you will be able even to die. And it will be a conscious thing. It is not that death will happen to you; you will die consciously. You will surrender to death consciously. You will welcome death consciously. This is the meaning of this story.

It is told that Fugai met his end
in an extraordinary manner.
Feeling that his last day had come,
he quickly had a hole dug…

This is the way. One should go a little way, a few steps, to meet death. When you know death is coming, go and meet it at the gate. Let death be welcomed.

…he quickly had a hole dug, then climbed in
and ordered the digger to cover him with earth.

He must have been a very rare man. He wanted to savor death in its completeness. He would not even like to be buried in the earth in unconsciousness, when he was gone. He would like even that to happen while he is there and watching and witnessing. Standing there being buried with earth….
Consciously ? Aware ? Death? ? Osho Online Library
Try using the search function on this site and search stuff related to death...That's how I found this quote.

What does that mean in the real world?

I would have expected that it was more likely in the final moments, that our subjective emotions release their (almost) incessant need for control over our consciousness, and thereby releases our objective Intelligence to provide an unhindered vision unto the wondrous beauty of our existence - once the overriding plethora of guilt, fear, anger, hate, blame has given up it's need to dominate.

If the ego is about controlling life, the direction of life, and on the deathbed the person realizes that there is no more life to control, it seems an authentic moment of surrender to the moment happens, the load of the mind/ego is released, the joy is felt of being unburdened....that much I can speak for from my life experiences...the rest of what may happen I've only read about like the bright light and so on. I don't know.

I just know that it feels really good to have the load of the mind lifted...it's liberating and death is a moment that ends the need to try to control life.

"OH WOW!" sounds really positive vs "OH CRAP!". I'm taking the oh wow as something beautiful that he experienced. And from hearing his speeches he really sounded like a guy that got the meaning of life....to create according to your heart.
