Default amygdala -fear or spiritual- brain switch

Neil Slade and the Brain Revolutionaries History
Apperently we all have an amygdala in our brain that directs the activity in the brain. One way is it sets you into "flight or fight" when having "amygdala hijack", the other way turns on the frontable lobes. So that link talks about ways to click the amygdala forward so the frontable lobes are being used. And that brain scans of a meditator showed the frontal lobes more active.

I wondered if anyone has palyed with this amygdala clicking and how it worked for them.

I also was listening to Bruce Lipton CDs (biology of belief) and he was talking about how fear shutsdown the frontal lobes and redirects the blood flow to the rear and lower parts of the brain - for flight or flight. This corelates to the info in the links at the top of this post. Interesting also is that a baby in the womb will develope differently based on how much fear is present with the mother. The fear will make the baby's brain also shutdown the frontable lobe blood flow and as such will have a more developed lower and back brain, so as to be able to come out and deal with the environment the mother is expressing fear over. Also, the converse - a mother that is relatively not fear ridden will be developing a baby that has more blood flow to the frontal lobes and the baby will be more intelligent - so was being said in the CDs. Here's a link to Bruce's web but I couldn't find a writing about the brain's amygdala that I heard about on the CDs.
Bruce Lipton Ph.D.: The Divine Matrix and the Biology of Belief

But the idea that we can switch our amygdala into using the frontal lobes and have a fuller/more connected experience intrigued me. I'm not sure what the procedure is to train this switch in our brains and just wondered if anyone on this forum is into this. Or got interested now because of my post and had thoughts.

I think I've had it happen spontaneously due to raising consciousness level above 200. Dr. Hawkins has shown that brain and nervous system physiology changes when going from below 200 to above, including the activation of Kundalini energy and the building of an etheric brain in the etheric body, and restructuring the brain so that signals go to the frontal cortex / rational center first before engaging the amygdala / emotional center (below 200, it's the other way around). This is probably the "switching forward" they're talking about.

I think what Neil and Bruce are studying are the physical effects of something that's actually spiritual in nature. I wonder if it's really possible to really switch the amygdala forward just by visualizing it repeatedly, as I think there has to be a consciousness raising first before it happens. Perhaps the intention behind it will make it work.

That does fit what I've gathered. Somewhere there was Kundalini mentions too. It seems that our brains are designed to be more than we normally use it for. What is an etheric brain?

What were you doing to raise your consciousness? And I could totally see how the brain would have been switching on your frontal lobes - just because this info talks about brain scans of advanced meditators having active frontal cortexes.

Yeah, that's what Iwonder - if it is possible to visualize the action of the amygdala and get into the whole brain state. Maybe it's not so important to know what it is that goes on when we raise our consciousness - but methods or practices or doing something different would be needed to have reliable access to the state that comes with more activity in the frontal lobes.

Due to certain vibrational levels of higher LOC being too high for normal protoplasm to handle -- the energy of unconditional love can get pretty intense for just ordinary neurons to process -- a entirely new subtle energy body begins to build up that supports those higher vibrational levels, including an etheric brain for storing "spiritual" information.

I'm still not sure how this ties into reincarnation -- my theory is that once people go over 200, they begin to have this subtle etheric body/brain, but it's possible to go back below 200 and thus have it become "dormant" again in the next lifetime. That would explain why I had a sub-200 LOC while still having some supra-200 characteristics.

I was actually into the whole self-help phase, which makes sense since at the time I was just beginning to peak into Courage and raising my LOC up above 200. Out of nowhere I suddenly had a small mental orgasm in my brain for a couple minutes, and I couldn't stop smiling cause I was feeling so good -- probably the same phenomenon of "clicking the amygdala forward". I actually had no idea what that was about, until I heard about this and I saw the connection

Yeah, I think everything that happens in the physical world is just the automatic consequence/correlate of our choices/intentions made in consciousness, which is in the spiritual world. What we see as frontal lobe / whole brain activity is just the result of consciousness choosing to engage in rational/spiritual activity over emotional / ego instincts, i.e. our consciousness contains our body and how it operates, and not vice versa.

I really find it fascinating how the spiritual/formless world ties into the physical/form world so nicely, and how it's so interconnected It really is a miracle when you think about it. Though I find it unfortunate that the great majority of people are still tied to believing in objective/physical reality as the source of their experience -- they'd have a lot more success by delving deeper into the cause-effect chain and working from consciousness itself

On the other hand, I tried the amygdala clicking visualization and it did seem to have a noticeable effect, so maybe it really does work. Who knows if its placebo or not -- I guess it really doesn't matter in the end Another handy spiritual first-aid tool to take you out of a bad spot

This is interesting. Is this also what Dr. Hawkins talks about? The etheric is a term I've heard from another writer - Stuart Wilde. Maybe not quite the same use of the term. But similar. Stuart talks about the etheric as a feild that is there that we can tap into - and maybe his version of tapping into the etheric is also waking up the etheric brain.

Nice. It does sound like some of the testimonials in Neil Slade's pages.

All this material stuff must be like a expression or side effect of the spiritual world more than we normally think.

I too thought I had some success. I suppose the more you do it the fuller the experience gets. Like you said, maybe just something for the tool box along with meditation, etc...

I also googled amygdala and ran into serious neurology stuff taking about post traumatic syndrome and that the amygdala is firing in the flight or fight mode habitually. Then I wonder about our fear based media and how many of us might be in a small version of post traumatic syndrome because of the fear that is part of the media and entertainment too. Makes it harder to get those frontal lobes going.

Awesome thread. I've just been reading Rita Carter's book 'Consciousness' where she discusses Andrew Newberg's scanning the brains of Tibetan Buddhists while in a transendental state. Sounds like the same information. She goes into the function of the amygdala in some depth.

Ethereal you just triggered a flashback for me, and I understand what one of the experiences I had awhile back that scared me and I hadn't been able to figure out. I get it now(it was symbolic to the core). Thank you very much. I saw my ethereal body being built...and it wasn't done yet, oh wow, so beautiful when I interpreted it as dark and scary, oh my so blessed I feel. I love you all. Thanks again Ethereal, blessings to you all.

Yeah,I really liked Ethereal's answer to the etheric brain. I wondered ifthis etheric body could detach from the physical body, like when you are asleep. I had oncce, a time that I was my etheric body in an out of body experience. Sort of like a lattice of electricity that had the general shape of my body. THis body could sense and see and I looked at my body that was asleep as I, in the detached etheric body (possibly), was sitting on the edge of the bed.

Very nice. Beautiful story. I do believe when you astral project or leave your body you are in your ethereal body during. I have had similar experiences, they leave a lasting impression on my consciousness.
