| Neil Slade and the Brain Revolutionaries History Apperently we all have an amygdala in our brain that directs the activity in the brain. One way is it sets you into "flight or fight" when having "amygdala hijack", the other way turns on the frontable lobes. So that link talks about ways to click the amygdala forward so the frontable lobes are being used. And that brain scans of a meditator showed the frontal lobes more active. I wondered if anyone has palyed with this amygdala clicking and how it worked for them. I also was listening to Bruce Lipton CDs (biology of belief) and he was talking about how fear shutsdown the frontal lobes and redirects the blood flow to the rear and lower parts of the brain - for flight or flight. This corelates to the info in the links at the top of this post. Interesting also is that a baby in the womb will develope differently based on how much fear is present with the mother. The fear will make the baby's brain also shutdown the frontable lobe blood flow and as such will have a more developed lower and back brain, so as to be able to come out and deal with the environment the mother is expressing fear over. Also, the converse - a mother that is relatively not fear ridden will be developing a baby that has more blood flow to the frontal lobes and the baby will be more intelligent - so was being said in the CDs. Here's a link to Bruce's web but I couldn't find a writing about the brain's amygdala that I heard about on the CDs. Bruce Lipton Ph.D.: The Divine Matrix and the Biology of Belief But the idea that we can switch our amygdala into using the frontal lobes and have a fuller/more connected experience intrigued me. I'm not sure what the procedure is to train this switch in our brains and just wondered if anyone on this forum is into this. Or got interested now because of my post and had thoughts. |

I think I've had it happen spontaneously due to raising consciousness level above 200. Dr. Hawkins has shown that brain and nervous system physiology changes when going from below 200 to above, including the activation of Kundalini energy and the building of an etheric brain in the etheric body, and restructuring the brain so that signals go to the frontal cortex / rational center first before engaging the amygdala / emotional center (below 200, it's the other way around). This is probably the "switching forward" they're talking about. I think what Neil and Bruce are studying are the physical effects of something that's actually spiritual in nature. I wonder if it's really possible to really switch the amygdala forward just by visualizing it repeatedly, as I think there has to be a consciousness raising first before it happens. Perhaps the intention behind it will make it work. Last edited by ethereal; 05-10-2007 at 04:31 AM. |

What were you doing to raise your consciousness? And I could totally see how the brain would have been switching on your frontal lobes - just because this info talks about brain scans of advanced meditators having active frontal cortexes. Quote:

I'm still not sure how this ties into reincarnation -- my theory is that once people go over 200, they begin to have this subtle etheric body/brain, but it's possible to go back below 200 and thus have it become "dormant" again in the next lifetime. That would explain why I had a sub-200 LOC while still having some supra-200 characteristics. Quote:

I really find it fascinating how the spiritual/formless world ties into the physical/form world so nicely, and how it's so interconnected On the other hand, I tried the amygdala clicking visualization and it did seem to have a noticeable effect, so maybe it really does work. Who knows if its placebo or not -- I guess it really doesn't matter in the end

I also googled amygdala and ran into serious neurology stuff taking about post traumatic syndrome and that the amygdala is firing in the flight or fight mode habitually. Then I wonder about our fear based media and how many of us might be in a small version of post traumatic syndrome because of the fear that is part of the media and entertainment too. Makes it harder to get those frontal lobes going.

Awesome thread. I've just been reading Rita Carter's book 'Consciousness' where she discusses Andrew Newberg's scanning the brains of Tibetan Buddhists while in a transendental state. Sounds like the same information. She goes into the function of the amygdala in some depth. Lallymac |
