I thinking it is a great quote you posted and find it easy to see the interdependence when the other person takes a stand on what they believe but it is difficult when the person is inconsistent and appear unclear of their beliefs. It has happened to me and became worst when called narrow minded for my belief, due to their projections of a bad experience from going to church. (Even though, I had a wonderful experience from attending church).

I'm seriously asking to learn from you; how you would handle these situations based on the Original Post.
How far down the rabbit hole are you prepared to go?

The way I see it is that our 'good' sides and our 'bad' sides are often in conflict with each other. For example you want to respect others beliefs but in truth you aren't feeling respectful towards them. They are pushing your negative buttons. It gets to you. So here your good side is trying to overcome your bad side but the bad side is having none of it.

I experienced this with my antagonist Arcanum. He was pushing every negative button I had and I wanted to take his head off, I was so angry but there was my 'positive' side telling me I'm a loving, understanding person and I knew this wasn't being true to myself. Humph! I actually began to listen to what I was really thinking of him which wasn't nice and I'm glad I didn't run too far with it. Every darn negative thought I had was a reflection of myself at some level. It was a slap in the face.

The turning point was when I saw him as seeking to destroy others beliefs systems including mine and make us into mini-mes. Doh! I was doing the same. But then I looked deeper and saw that wasn't his intention at all, nor was it his motive. Ding, neither were mine. Arcanum is being himself and seeing this allowed me to be myself.

Of course from there, I still had unresolved issues and my antagonist was now given my full respect so I hit god instead. hahahah Same thing happened. Doh, it's my mirror.

I can't know for sure about you personally Dream, but from what you say I think you are seeing something in them that you are perceiving as 'not being you' because your 'good' side is overpowering. Hope I've been able to shed some light on your 'dark' side. regards
