Default A call for adventure

More and more I've been hoping for some kind of adventure, preferably into the wilderness or somewhere surrounded by nature. Beings I'm embarking on a spiritual journey in life as well, I'm starting to think it could be beneficial to combine these two trips. Maybe a trip like this could help boost my spiritual journey. I wonder if this is best to do all by myself...lol, not sure how my g/f will feel about not joining.

Have any of you took a trip like this, just a random trip into nature?
If so, did it help you spiritually?
Did you do it by yourself?

Please, feel free to suggest some ideas where to go too. I live in PA and it's becoming cold here so not sure locally would be the best.

I've thought about doing this. If you have some cash to blow, grab a Hennessy Hammock. Also here's a good resource.

Three words: Yosemite National Forest. John Muir wasn't kidding when he talked about communion with God in such a place.

I'm eager to go there, again next summer, but I don't know if I'll be able.

Also residing in PA here, having traveled the world my experience has found no spiritual journey more profound than Self-Inquiry.

loads of great spots down here in oz

doesn't really matter where you go. you spiritual journey goes with you wherever you are - at home, on holiday, adventuring, retreating, or washing up. it also goes on whether you're with people or not.

having said that, there's some real power to solitude in nature. it's challenging, exciting, scary and revealing.

enjoy it - whatever you decide. xx

I agree...Recently we took a boat ride in the Everglades and inspite of how beautiful it was, it paled in comparison to what I see inside my experiences of my own nature. To see nature through the five sense vs. "being" nature are a quantum leap apart.

I will take both!

What I really enjoy are the nature shows in HD on TV where the producers show the most incredible feats of nature that I've never seen before, like a mother fish protecting her young by having them stay in her mouth. The little fish would be swimming around mom and then mom would open her mouth and within a second, 30 little fish would dart into her mouth. Amazing!
