It is, isn't it? I've only just 'realized it'. I've wanted to kill him many times and man, now I'm like a love sick puppy following him around. hahahahahah I saw him as my adversary and when I saw it in myself the walls came down. Now, I just want to take him home with me and argue with him all day long.

I agree to the group hug and many more to come. Let's suck it up. with love Paula

Very nice. Now we're getting a glimpse of Love in action. She never looks the way we think she should.

Yes, I understand. Just keep in mind that the belief that there needs to be a slow opening up to who you are also isn't necessary. Although I do recognize that some are not ready yet and so there is a desire to keep things at a slow pace. Note, this isn't meant in any superior type of way. Just that some are not ready to awaken at all, some are enjoying the ride and some desire truth at all costs with no delays.

Oh man, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, a bit frightened to believe what is happening here. I'm feeling it and not in the way I expected to either. Very new to me.

You can say that again and I'm happy that you gave it the feminine touch.

Thanks. I reread what I wrote, and don't see where I said it has to be slow. I appreciate the suggestion though.

Yeah, you didn't say slow. 'Opening to' at least to me gives the impression of a process that probably isn't instantaneous. Much like a flower opening up. Like I said though, there's no problem with this so long as people are not under the impression that they have to forcefully open the flower.

I think the hate is sponsored by fear of actually being unlovable. I certainly felt that I wasn't loved for who I was.

You are so right Maguru. Fear is the underlying source of all emotion, so whenever we feel anything like disdain, disgust, guilt, anguish, anger, hate, or a whole range of 'emotions', and backwards trace the stepping stones to the wellspring in the past, we find loss (and it's sadness/devestation) and the fear such loss generated - and continues to do so.

This fear subsequently needs to be placed (somewhere) in our mentality, and then re-emerges under a great many 'emotions' - such as mentioned above.

In one of the star wars movies young annekin skywalker was brought before the Jedi council to be considered for training as a Jedi night. Yoda (the head of the Jedi council), after examining him and asking him a series of questions, concluded that he will not be trained.

'Why not?' asked young Annekin (who was only a boy)

Yoda: 'Much fear I sense in you.'

Annekin: 'What does fear have to do with it?'

Yoda: 'EVERYTHING. Fear leads to anger...anger leads to hate...and hate leads to...SUFFERING.'

I think you made a very astute self observation there Paula. Just thought this might help you see it even clearer than you already are.

For those who know Star Wars like the back of their hand, please forgive the loose translation

In my own experience, although real Love can sometimes bring you to your knees in gratitude, it can also be very ... tough.

I grew up with alcoholics, and in AlAnon circles, "tough love" is a recurring theme. But, this seems to apply to more than just alcoholics. It really applies to everyone who, on occasion, need to be slapped in the face (either literally or metaphorically), when they get a little crazy.

Just a thought.

Thanks guys for the insights and support. It's not easy looking at your own crap and getting metaphorically slapped all over the place, but worth it.

I don't think anyone's slapping you here, Paula. I, for one, have others around here to slap.

No, I think in your case, the Love you need is in the form of simple and pure understanding.

I suppose the metaphorical slap is how I receive the understanding.
It seems the more I understand the less there is for me to know.

this is one of the greatest truths, IMO, to come out of Star Wars.

It also seems to me that fear often comes from.....ignorance.

I completely agree with this. I think a lot of people do others an injustice and are unloving in the name of love because they don't understand this. Nice post.

Yes! So true...

Unfortunately it seems like a self perpetuating cycle, since fear helps keep ignorance in place. If the person is afraid of the consequences of a truth, then they will most likely refuse to see, or admit, that truth. They remain ignorant.

This is why courage, or being en-couraged, is so important.

Yeah, I agree with this too. I like the way you put it, 'are unloving in the name of love.' This happens when people think that love needs to look a certain way. Love has nothing to do with appearances. I might even go so far as to say it has nothing to do with feeling either. Love is an intention thing in my opinion.
