Default Past Lives

I definitely believe in the concept of Reincarnation and that we've taken quite a journey before this lifetime that we exist in right now..

However, being that in our human lifeform, we tend to learn best from our mistakes.. I think it would be quite interesting and provide great insight to us if we were able to easily tap into the experiences we've had in previous lives...

Perhaps we would realize the grave dangers that were caused by an addiction in our prior lifetime.. which would make us think twice in this lifetime to pursue the same addiction..

Or perhaps we'd stop being so paranoid about death being the end of the road, if we realized that we've been through this many times before..

Though I can see how it can also be a negative thing if say in our previous lives we did horrible things to many people.. could we live with that on our conscience? Or are we better off not knowing?

What is your take on past lives?? and would you want to know all the things you've done in your previous births? Can anyone actually remember or get flashbacks of certain events that took place in a previous lifetime?? If so, is there any methodology you follow?

I think this is quite an intriguing topic.. your inputs would definitely be appreciated...

If you are interested in well documented cases of reincarnation I can recommend this article: Carter Phipps: Death, Rebirth, <br>and Everything in Between - I didn't really take the issue that seriously until i read that.

I kind of believe in it. Not very sure thought. I get clues of a possible past live (and maybe other) of mine but I've found no way of having flashes and memories.

Wow, Rasmus -- that's quite an article! I'm only on the second page and I'm very surprised.

Default Past life dream connections

I'm interested to hear about who has made connections to past lives from their dream recall. What kinds of information did you learn? I learn a lot from dreams in general but to this point, I have tended to focus on their connections to present day rather than past lives.

When my youngest daughter was a toddler, she repeatedly woke up in the night screaming about a lion in her room. She'd end up in bed with us and there was no consoling her. She'd sob herself to sleep. Then I noticed when she was playing sometimes, she'd sing an African song and do the body movements with it. It was always the same song, sung in African words. When she was three, she was sitting on the end of the bath singing away while I had a shower. I said quietly, 'That's a lovely song babe, where did you learn that?' She shuddered and said quietly, 'The lion ate the baby.' I gently asked some more questions and she described a hut she lived in and how the lion had snatched the baby from the doorway and her mother ran after it and didn't come back. It was a bit scary as parent hearing your child say that. She had tears streaming down her face and it was very real to her.
After she told me, she never had the 'lion in her room' thing again and never sung the song again. I believe it was past life recall and in telling it she had released it.

Default Dream clues

Thanks Lallymac. I liked the story you shared. I've known people who use dreams to work through reasons for their present day anxiety and other issues. Where people confront sources of fear in their dreams, they can train themselves to awaken with the ability to better manage emotions during their real lives. Where dream scenarios involve strangers, people to whom I speak make connections to possible flashbacks or reincarnation. No matter what our age, I think dreams are especially useful when they enable us to explore new meaning in our emotions and to better understand ourselves. We get out of them what we choose to learn.

Thumbs up

Past lives have always fascinated me, and haunted me also in 2 cases. I've been using Hypnosis to access and view the previous life times since some time now. In fact my true stepping IN into hypnotherapy only started when accidentally i ended up in a workshop about entity and attachment release, and there i got chosen as a demo subject and one of the pioneers in Past life therapy and Spirit release Dr. Hans Tandem had done my past life therapy.

Since that day as those issues with me were taken care of, things did change, slowly and steadily. Yeah towards the good! Anyways, of the things I have heard from people the only effective method for past life regression and therapy is using Hypnosis.

When a concept is believed to be true then it can no longer be a concept. Is reincarnation a reality or a possibility?

Well, i guess that completely depends upon the personal beliefs of the person in question, for me yes its a reality, but for some one else it might just be a myth!

I don't doubt the authenticity of your experiences from hypnotherapy but I wonder if there could be an alternative explanation for them?

Although for you it's a reality, it is not in form. It is only in thought and therefore only a possible reality.

I understand where ure coming from, in the beginning after a session i'd be like, it din happen, was my imagination, or maybe i just made it up. But then what happens is that once you start taking it as, ok, it happened in my session, do i have anything to learn from that, does that make me abetter person in any way, well just apply the learnings, and go on. It helped me a lot, and is still doing it, so for me, yes i'd say yes its almost as strong a reality as the reality in which i am tying this post. Again, as i said its more of a personal opinion than a state of mind even, people even after going thru hypnosis sessions are some times unable to apply the lesson they learned from the session to their lives, since they believe it was just kinda my imagination...

Well I'd ask, where does imagination come from? Isnt it coming also from the subconscious mind when the person is under hypnosis? Its shocking to see the imagination of a conscious person usually, but one can only experience the imagination of a subconscious - all knowing mind.

in the end.... Personal opinion would rule it all.

While we refer to our "past" lives as in the past.. there actually all just happening right now.. more than we really know.. there's first the infinite multi-verse of our lives then there is other past lives going on..

We channel information from these past lives all the time.. I don't really need to know much about my past lives.. but I surely do like the information..

If or tv/new age media is to believed some people have manifested deep psychological issues that they want to carry out here thanks to their past lives.. and interestingly enough some people remember their past lives (like children) and talk about the places they remember, where they died.. there old family etc.

That's my take on it..

I wouldn't want to know all the things I've done in my past lives if it has no relevance to now. In my view, past life info is only relevant if it's something which affects you negatively, so you need to heal it.

There's another method for past life therapy which is effective - it's reading someone's Akashic Record and doing healing work in their Akashic (soul) record. For that, the practitioner is the one who sees the past life events and then recounts them to the client, it has the same effect as past life regression therapy.

I dont know much about this technique/method, but personally I dont know how much I'd be able to believe of what another person is "telling" me my past life was and because of which event which "he/she" saw while he was viewing my akashic records.

The other thing is, that a past life therapy using Hypnosis is actually quite an experience for the client, (sometimes even for a therapist) and that self healing experience the emotions of looking at your own death scene, I think these are the things that help you put your learnings from a therapy session into play.

This is only a hpnotists' as well as a hypnotee's POV I am not saying anything against the above mentioned method since I absolutely have no idea what it is... I will research on it though, google here I come.

Hi maxrush,

To save your googling, the modality I mentioned is called 'Soul Realignment'.

It's true that this modality is not quite the same as past life regression, but it does have noticeable healing effects (in my experience!)

Hi Anna,

Yeah my search did lead me to soul realignment (.com) it seems very interesting, though i dont know why, personally I am feeling a bit awkward about this method. I mean if I was to go thru this procedure, with a Soul Realignment Practitioner, what state I would be in? as in, would I be with a completely active conscious mind? and If yes, the practitioner would be looking into all the experience and after it would just narrate it to me?

Maybe because of my experience with guided Hypnosis which is more me centric (me as a client) thats why I am more for that, or maybe its just a defence mechanism against some thing new, i'll keep an open mind and look into this, very interesting indeed.

Coming back to Past lives, I'd like to ask the people who have experienced theirs, how many of you changed your sex thru lives? as in if you're a woman right now have you seen a past life being a man? and vice versa?

Hi maxrush,

A soul realignment session is really different from past life therapy. When I do a soul realignment reading for someone, I look into their Akashic (soul) record distantly, so the person being read for isn't even present. When I'm in their soul record, I ask about certain blocks or damage that come from past lives, which are still affecting the client in this life. It's basically going through a list of possible blocks and when I hit upon one, I usually get detailed info about the client's past life - when it was, where it was, what happened, how it's affecting them now, etc. I'm in an altered state of awareness all the time I'm doing that.

Then I would do spiritual healing around the blocks, distantly, write up all the info and send it to the client. For the client, just knowing where certain issues come from is a healing process in itself. The client also gets some healing 'homework' to do, to reinforce the healing.

Regarding changing gender through lifetimes - I often come across clients who have experienced both female and male incarnations equally. By contrast, some people seem to choose one gender more then the other for their incarnations.

If you have a look at MindSoulSpirit and go to students experiences there are a number of catergories from dream recall to other types of psychic experiences. It is a wonderful read and has certainly helped me to recognise some of my own experiences. I have had dreams that have been verified at a future time. Eg a dream of my car blowing smoke inspired me to get it pressure tested. The outcome was that the motor was well on the way out.

Has there been a case in your knowing when the client has been disturbed post the Soul Realignment process, to an extent that it has become a "harmful" exercise for them, over all?
