Default Thinking is suffering

Thinking is suffering, but what does that really mean.
Just like your not supposed to be attached to things, it doesn't mean detatchment.
How can you live though without thinking at all? shouldn't you really take things as they are? Like a table, is a table cause we have put names on it, but should u stop believing it is a table? Wouldn't that cause more thinking of what it really is then?
And if ur not going to believe people, wont you go paranoid? How can u function with all these things?

That post is a little confusing Dave... could you state in just one sentence what it is that you are trying to find out...???

Thinking/judging causes suffering because you are not fully in the now. If you are thinking or judging you are bringing the past(your preconceptions) and the future(your desired outcome) into the now...you are no longer in the now. This is where the suffering comes from.

It's like nonattachment doesn't mean your not going to do things, ur just not attached in the matter you'll get sad if you don't do it.
What about beliefs, if a table isn't a table, what is it?
There automatically the mind starts running around... <<< Problem
Same with people telling you something, if you don't have beliefs, you can't trust, if you don't trust, you go paranoid or...?
I know all suffering comes from the mind but then... what are you going to do? become a monkey, isn't this going going backwards not forwards?

Being in the now and being nonattached and stop making up so many beliefs is the cure to all suffering

I second this. I believe this is the path of negation according to Hawkins.. Buddhism talks a lot about this. It's hard though to practice. Hmm.

Tolle talks about it too. But yeah I agree, being in the now is the important thing. I am finding the exercise of being one with everything (first an object) helps me to realize I am the witness& one with what I am observing. After that comes an awe that I am in the now & then the thought comes along & interrupts the entire darned thing. I think you've got it Dave.
