Default Communicating soul to soul

When we communicate, we do so with words, and body expressions. Is it possible to communicate with feelings, in other words soul to soul? Many people talk about communicating telepathically (mind to mind), but I think it would be so much more meaningful if we were able to communicate and share love - literally.

I think we do right? (waiting for others to chime in)

Maybe because I tend to be sensitive & pick up other people's feelings regardless... I notice this a lot. But I think we all do pick up each other's feelings.

For example, you walk into a room where an argument just occurred. The air is bristling with activity. That can affect you if you let it.

Whenever I'm at the nursing home & I hold a resident's hand I can tell they feel loved. Also, I think when you look into another person's eyes you literally see into their soul. This is from my personal experience.

I think mostly we just pick up on people's body language and exprssions. Our subsequent emotions are based on our reaction to this. When I say communicate "soul to soul", I mean truly truly communicate to someone, but on a level much deeper than words. Like a soul mate I guess.

Maybe, I know atleast whenever I see animals etc. suffer It's like I feel their suffering like an empath or something.
I think that's what "making love" once meant, really LOVE, not have sex, but MAKE LOVE.

I think people lack that true connection. I got the idea from the movie The Celestine Prophecy. It's a fictional account of man's next step into evolution, and says that when people communicate they share energy with one another.

Yeah, but I believe once your more spiritual etc. and your level of consciousness raises, it vibrates through the room kind of.
it's like, if someone is depressed, your mood automatically goes down too, it's not easy sitting happy smiling while someone is crying unless you know you got something that will make them happy.

I think it's a ego thing, cause when you have sex with someone to satisfy your lust, what leaves it to the other person? nothing except her/his satisfaction of the same lust... It's no sharing, just using

Very true, I hope to one day communicate to someone in that way.

Me too, I just wonder if enlightenment means you lose your "individual soul" and personality.
Ego is one thing, but your true personality, I don't want to lose that...

Enlightenment will bring out your TRUE spiritual personality. The ego personality is not your true personality Dave.

I agree with Simmiah, so much is in the eyes, so much.

But that TRUE spiritual personality, is that unique?
If you put 10 enlightened people in a room, would each one of them be unique?
OR would they be like robots, exactly the same personality?
Imagine a world where everyone was the same, isn't that the opposite of evolution?

I believe that there have been many enlightened people on this planet, and they all had their own unique personality, experience, and lessons to share. Can you say that Buddha and Jesus had the same personality? I never met either but they seem to be unique from what I have read. If the statement '1 in 1 million people become enlightened' then there should be around 600 enlightened/almost enlightened people on this earth currently. I believe they all have their own unique personality.

Yeah this is what's keeping me from seeking full enlightenment, cause I don't want to lose my sense of self, the inner feeling of me.
I always believed we have a unique self, EACH and everyone of us, but we're all connected in the ALL consciousness.

I think Erin touches on this a bit in her blog. About when she does readings how she gets into her higher frequencies, her high/inner-self, the soul part, that has not forgotten & gets communications from her 'sitter's' high-self. Now I totally did not explain that in her words or anything...lol. But that's the idea I get from being around psychic/healer types. They talk soul to soul with us.

Yeah so we got individual soul?

I even read Buddha never denied soul or God for that matter.
Other say he played with words to get the other munks to think for themself.
Guess it's like Jesus and the Bible, what Jesus said is probably nothing like what the Christian Bible says:P

Personaly, I think we do have individual souls Dave, eternally.

Sorry to get a little religious on ya all, but I practice Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion, the Vaisnava branch of it, which is the oldest, so we say . We are taught that we are eternally individual souls.

The Bhagavad Gita - As It Is. (A.k.A. The Song Of God) says....... and gosh forgive me for quoting scripture at you all ~ I really don't usually do this!..... and this is God/Krsna talking (which Krishna just means "all attractive" in Sanskrit & is one of MANY names of God (He's not limited to just one name or one religion & yes there is a She too ):

"There was never a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be." (chapter 2 verse 12)

"As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such change" - 2.13

"Those who are seers of the truth have concluded that of the non-existant [the material body] there is no endurance and of the eternal [the soul] there is no change. This they have concluded by studying the nature of both." - 2.16

"That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul." - 2.17

Also in the Vedas everytime God comes here to have a "past-time" (for fun & for the good of all of us) it has already been fortold in the Vedas, so that no-one can come along & claim to be God when he is actually not.

Buddha was considered to be an apearance of God, according to the Vedas (although maybe not to Buddists, I'm not sure what Buddists believe so much). He came to lead people away from the Vedas because they were abusing the knowledge at the time. Then other Avatars, God apearing here in different forms (hey why not?) , like we do in different bodies, came to lead people back to the Vedas when the time was right.

Hope that was all okay to say & makes sense. No offense, I am very broad minded person, personally, & don't neccessarily conform to one religion or way of thinking. But I do like this stuff & that I won't be loosing my identity, although that is an option, temporarily....just eventually the soul will get board & want to individuate (is that a word?) again.

Buddha did indeed "play" with words. I remember a story where a man came to him and asked "Is there a god?" Buddha exclaimed "Yes, of course!" Later another man came and asked "Is there a god?" Buddha replied "No, not at all." Now Buddhas follwers had seen these exchanges and it was begining to try their minds. Finally a third man comes and he says to Buddha "What do you know of god?" Buddha closed his eyes and remained in silence for 30 minutes. Seeing the Buddha close his eyes the man did the same and they sat in silence together for 30 minutes. After this time the man got up and thanked the Buddha. One of Buddhas followers DEMANDED to know why the Buddha had been giving such varying answers to the same question.

Buddha explained that each man was very different so different answers were given to each man based on that man, as the Buddha knew everything about these men. He explained that the first man was an atheist and he did not want to strengthen such a silly belief. The second man believed in God and left all up to him and Buddha did not want to strengthen this belief either. The last man came to him with an open mind and an open heart. He simply asked what the Buddha knew of god. Seeing Buddha close his eyes he did the same and in the silence he found his answer and that is why he thanked the Buddha. The Buddha was all about not letting ANY belief run your life.

Hmm I really like this story. & I've heard that a good teacher always changes his teachings to suit the student. This is why I am not teaching. I'm not really good at this.. I actually end up sharing what I'd learn from it which is obviously not the same thing.

& yeah I think we have an individual soul &
DaveTyler, I'm the same as you. I have trouble letting go of my belief in my self & how great my personality is. Eek. Anyways, I am hoping prayer is helping a little with that.

I think the world would be much more beautiful if we could connect on the "soul" level.

Personality is great, it's not about losing it I think, WE ARE infact individual souls.
Look at two twins, their identical appearance, but their souls is unique...
All enlightened people have souls, unique ones, and personality...
See?

I think when we communicate through words, we actually are communicating with our soul. Our words are vocal expressions of our thoughts, our thoughts are a combined mental expression from little ideas that are formed naturally based off our own individual personality and their strengths on how to deal with things. The more we use are words, the less we use our soul, it's "in place of". The less we use words, the more we use our soul. I think that speaking in tounges has something to do with that.

I had a really eye-opening experience a few months back. I went to this spiritual meditation meeting with a good friend, sort of on a whim. The leader of the group led us through this meditation wherein we were directed to choose someone in our lives with whom we were having trouble getting along. I chose someone that I love dearly, but had not spoken to in several months due to disagreements and bad feelings between us.

It was a visualization experiment. We did some deep breathing and imagined light coming in through the top of our heads and shooting down through our feet into the earth. Once we were relaxed, he told us to call out to the soul of the person we wanted to contact and request that they meet with us on this level. If the answer was yes, as it was in my case, we were to visualize that person sitting across from us. Then the leader led us through some things to say to this person. Most of it involved forgiveness. I apologized for anything I might have done to harm this person and told him that I forgave his (perceived) trespasses against me. We spent some time with this loving connection and then the leader talked us back into the room.

I remember being surprised that there was a podium right in front of my chair when I opened my eyes because the visualization of my person had been so clear. Anyway, I knew that *I* felt better about the relationship, but I had no idea whether the person I had contacted was affected by the communication. The leader assured me that he was affected in a very real way.

We went home after the meeting, and I felt good. Amazingly, the person with whom I had communicated at the meeting called me within two hours. It was the first time we'd spoken in months, and the first time he had taken the initiative to call me in even longer than that. We had a wonderful, fun conversation. It was almost as if the stress between us had never been there. And the relationship has improved steadily ever since.

I believe our souls spoke, and since it was in the language of love and forgiveness, we healed our relationship to some degree that day.

By the way, this person lived several hundred miles away. I didn't sense that physical distance made any difference at all. Also, lots of other people in the group reported success as well. As far as I know, anyone can do this as long as they have a spirit of willingness.
