Unconditional Love?

Kind of... but love is the strongest, just like heat, cold is just lack of heat. just like hate is lack of love.
I think when you got that inner lover in you, that unlimited love, you'll keep giving.
Ofcourse you'll recieve, but you will give to give, not give to recieve.
The whole concept of relationships being built on "Give and take" is ************edup, it's really "give and get" but never give to get...

My understanding of unconditional love is that it is a vibrational frequency as opposed to something we do or try to do. It's a level of consciousness attainable by surrendering of self. A state of being.
The more time we spend in this state, the more unconditional love becomes a part of us and the more tangiable it is to those around us.

I think you're right Lallymac! I've been working on it some more & I realized the other day that love isn't like a commodity to give & get but rather a state of being which emanates & may or may not affect others depending on where they're at.

It's interesting because that's why it seems to be self-sustaining since it is from inside of me or something like that.

It is self sustaining. I've meditating every day lately and I've noticed friends (a couple who don't normally) keep hugging me and my kids (even the adult ones) want to touch and hug me. Every time I open to meditate I get filled to overflowing with love. I feel very peaceful and calm.

Yeah, love already exists within your consciousness, or else you wouldn't be able to recognize and feel it

These days I've been temporarily entering states of love/beauty that I can only describe as a complete "meltingness" of everything, where you surrender everything to the moment and to God, and even your self-consciousness dissolves into that Love.

I think it helps to consciously remember what it was like, and you can kind of trigger yourself into entering it again

It also helps to remember that this Love is an impersonal quality, and shouldn't be projected onto people/objects. I found myself incredibly attracted to this one girl who is 7 years older than me, and then it finally hit me that I was attracted to the Love she was emanating and not necessarily her physicality (although she is pretty too , there are far more prettier girls). Self-calibrated her at 525, which confirms it.

Also helps to be on guard and not drop into naivete, which is the major downside of Unconditional Love. It's not Loving, to others and to yourself, to allow that which is non-integrous free rein in your life. You can love and forgive people who swindle and cheat you, but that's confusing love with passivity and allowing integrity to be corrupted.

Nice to hear you're feeling that ethereal & actually big huge thanks for your reminder to be aware to not be naive.

I know that's been my old habit but I am growing wiser I think now (affirmation for me inserted..heh..) & actually thanks for letting me know to not project it onto people or objects. I find myself catching my mind trying to assign the "love" or "joy" I may be feeling temporarily onto things...hmm..it brings up & confirms what I was thinking about the other day about love not being a commodity.

I definitely tend to be passive sometimes & it's always been a problem on/off for me through the years. I know many books & 12 step groups emphasize it isn't my job to do what I do sometimes but.. I forget heh. & heh.. Hawkins just warned about it in the "Transcending Levels" book & I was going "doh!" because I knew I'd done that so often. So thanks ethereal for your insights. Really helpful for me at this time.

I recently discovered something amazing -- unconditional love is a choice you make.

Dr. Hawkins -- "... one adds the pathway of the heart by making a decision to be unconditionally loving to to all that is encountered.... This means one has to learn to love even a garbage can." (bolded by me )

After making that decision recently, all the unconscious obstacles/beliefs obstructing that decision now rises into conscious awareness to be healed and released.

I'm now going through every single person that I've ever been in contact with, and learning to love all of them. With many of them, this knot of fear/hate/envy/desire rises up in my 2nd/3rd chakras, but by staying with and not resisting the sensations, and letting them go, all the crap leaves and eventually only unconditional love remains.

Beautiful, just beautiful. This is exactly how I got to said state. I continue to feel unconditional love to everything I see and almost everyone I see and meet. Like you say, obstacles and beliefs do arise and you must now take the new path. Like you said, the feelings arise and you don't try to repress them or opress them, you let them engulf you, you feel the sensations and for me I realize where these judgements and feelings came from(the past and my interperation of it, which created my belief system) and then I am able to blow them away like the self told lie that it is. I accept everyone fully and it is much more freeing that way. Congrats on discovering and pushing through this on your own. I feel such deep connections when people are able to put into words things I have discovered in my own life but unsure of how to word for others to benefit from. I think you did this very well. This is exactly how I would describe it, I thought it was my own personal anxiety issues and this was something only I was dealing with personal to me, it is wonderful to see others can benefit as well. You helped me to see how much deeper this goes than I was understanding, I was just doing it because it was helping me, I see how to go about it better now though...hehe life is like an rpg I swear.
