Does the world exist? I'm so confused and feel like just escaping reality if it's just in my head in the first place... Reality is not ME? I am not reality? Do all of you exist just like I do? With thoughts, feelings, perceptions? We just percieve it right, it is real? someone PLEASE convince me this is the truth, I feel trapped in the universe if it's jsut in my head |

Everyone interested in personal development is looking for the answer to the fundamental questions. Who am I and why am I here. You're like Neo in the Matrix, you feel there's something wrong with the world, but you don't know what it is. It can be very stressful to have all these thoughts of you being god, not being real, being everyone, creating everyhing on the fly, etc, but the real trick is to not let any of it send you nuts. My advice to you is to relax, calm down and go somewhere peaceful where you can just empty your head of all these crazy ideas. Go out into nature on your own, somewhere where you can be on your own and just try to empty your mind of anything you are unsure of. Take a friend, but only if they can support you. Just think about being alive, without wondering how it all works, just be in the moment. Look at the trees, the sky, birds, whatever. Marvel at it all and see how wonderful it is, just to exist. Empty your mind of anything that is of no practical use. Is thinking your god and alone and making it all up as you go along practical? If it isn't then let it go, if it can't help you it will hurt you if you let it. This website has some very big and hard to grasp concepts and ideas, it should come with a warning sticker! But you need to rid your mid of anything that is of no immediate practial help. Try the nature thing, it's pretty cool place. Cheese Zooy |

hi Dave, i think i'm feelin the same way you are on a lot of this based on your posts sometimes i stay focused with understanding all this stuff.. but then sometimes i just revert back to the begining...of WHAT WHAT WHAT and WHY WHY WHY????? it's a total mind scrammble, and it feels like my mind could just explode. i'm even considering leaving this forum and just going back to 'so called life'. ignorance is bliss, right? but i won't, cause i know that the best thing i can do as a person, is to learn more and understand the 'truth'. and i agree with Zooy, I think there should be warnings of 'Truth Bombs' |

Reality is You and You are Reality. We all exist too. Yes we are all conscious beings. The universe is in your mind and your mind is the universe. Stop confusing yourself already. *Order! Let there be order!* Read this: True Theory of Everything in the Universe

Dave is asking himself the same questions philosophers beginning with the Greeks have asked themselves for centuries. The real question is - can I trust my senses? If I can't, and maybe I can't, then what is real? The philosopher Descartes said "I think, therefore I am". That's a really good place to start. Take it from there. And of course being practical is always good idea. Dave, I think you're going through the confusion most of us go through at a certain age. You question everything beginning with your existence. That's okay and the good news is.......you will find the answers. |

Well actually, I don't believe that I am God, but I believe that God exists in all of us. We are all connected to God through our souls. As for the flying question. The law of gravity only exists here on earth so if you really wanted to fly, you could always go to another planet where gravity doesn't exist. The point is that we all have brains and we should use logic. There are things we know to be true, deep within us, even if the evidence cannot be experienced with our five senses. |

The world exists. You are reality, and you are a part of reality, though this world is not the ultimate reality. We all exist and have thoughts, feelings, perceptions. Quote:
The best thing that you are doing is that you are questioning. People go throughout their whole lives without asking themselves these sort of questions. Our words can only provide some solace for the turmoil which I'm sure you're feeling inside. The right questions will lead (God willing) to the right answer.

but lately i've been thinking -------------------------- we can't answer these things, we're not equipped to i think humans have been foolish in thinking that we CAN comprehend life and that it's explainable. we think in the short-term, when the truth is longterm (so long that we can't comprehend it). so therefore, anything we come up with will never be correct. i think what we call god is 'the furthest back we can think (or imagine/comprehend). but that's not to say it's the 'answer'. we have to remember that we're only capable of so much, we exist in a certain amount of dimensions, and therefore can't be aware of things beyond the ones we experience. this idea of a 'creator' is the best thing WE (not me, just the majority of ppl) can come up with. but why do we assume that we CAN even try to answer anything. ahhh my mind is scrammbling again.........

I think we can comprehend life and existence. There have been plenty of wise teachers and philosophers who have paved the way for us. Everyone from Socrates to Buddha, to Jesus to others, in every culture. We don't have to re-invent thinking. There are also people born with special abilities and insight that can help those of us who are struggling and trying to define ourselves. There are answers, you just have to seek them out. What you shouldn't do is give up and throw in the towel. There is purpose and design to all of our lives. |
