greetings, well i found steves sight by asking the all to direct me to a different way at looking at reality, and that night i ran into steves sr belief which i found to be a wonderful new concept. i ran into a sight called hiddenmeanings.com,i spent a lot of time reading bills hidden meanings of the bible,it is a totally different way to read the bible,i found it quite refreshing and hope to stir up intrest. this is a tid bit from bills works... HOW DOES THE BIBLE ITSELF INSTRUCT US IN EVALUATING ITS TEXT ? All of Jesus words were symbolic. There was nothing to be taken literally. Matthew 13: 34. All these things spoke Jesus to the multitude in parables; and he did not speak without a parable. He said that he would make things clear to his disciples and we will explain that one later. But here we see as far as the text is concerned, it is symbolic. BE NOT A MINISTER OF THE LETTER MEANS NOT TO TAKE THE SCRIPTURE LITERALLY 2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also has made us able ministers of the new testament, not of the letter but of the spirit for the letter kills but the spirit gives life. Hardly a comment has to be made. Here you are being told as clearly as possible that you should not take the scripture literally. In other words what you read as events never happened. Yet in understanding the hidden secrets you will find that they happen daily within you. i invite you to take a peak at www.hiddenmeaningscom and join me in a different view of the bible,i would love to see what others get from it. |

This is my favorite subject. The Bible is readable on three different levels. It is a very good esoteric book if you have the right mind-set to read between the lines. Sadly the Bible had books omitted and exiting texts altered to fit the "story" into Constantine's political and philosophical ambitions and goals. Quoting texts from the Bible and taking them word for word is not suggested. Some examples; Baptism of Jesus by John Mt. (3.13.) 'Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan, unto John, to be baptized by him. Mt. (3.14.) But John stayed him, saying: I ought to be baptized by thee, and comest thou to me? Mt. (3.15.) And Jesus answering, said to him: Suffer it to be so now. For so it becometh us to fulfil all justice. John was the Teacher preceding Jesus, if not in importance but in timeline. He virtually taught the same principles with some variations. Baptism by water, versus baptism with Fire, that was the technical difference. This action of baptism was actually an initiation for spiritual advancement. When Jesus agreed or even encouraged John to baptize him - he acknowledged his own need to advance to the next level, which was his sixth initiation. As most initiations were tests, this was a test for Jesus in humility and showing that he overcame his Ego. He was a well-known teacher and he lowered himself in order to show example. There can be no rivalry between the true followers on the Path, as both Jesus and John were. Jesus is tempted by the devil Mt. (4. 1.) 'Then Jesus was led by the spirit into the desert, to be tempted by the devil. Mt. (4. 2.) And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he was hungry Mt. (4. 3.) And the tempter coming said to him: If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. Mt. (4. 4.) Jesus answered and said: It is written, not in bread alone doth man live, but in every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.' "Word of God" in this sense symbolically refers to the Wisdom (God's Consciousness) and Spirituality that man needs to live as much as one needs water and food to stay alive. God's Consciousness affords men life beyond death, not in body but in spirit. Bliss and Myth are needed to make life worthwhile. The secret is Mind-heart link and Love. The word of God is the understanding man's divinity and his potential to defeat death and gain immortality. The test in material life is to learn to live in the physical world without losing the Awe and Bliss that Myths gave us. I am the way, and the truth Jhn. (14.1) 'Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God, believe also in me. Jhn. (14.2.) There are many dwelling places in my Father's house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you. Jhn. (14.3.) And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too. Jhn. (14.4.) And you know the way where I am going.' Jhn. (14.5.) Thomas said, 'Lord, we don not know where you are going. How can we know the way?' Jhn. (14.6.) Jesus replied, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jhn. (14.7.) If you have known me, you will know my Father too. And from now on you do know him and have seen him.' Jesus referes to God and "his father" as a separate entity, a sign that Jesus is human and not God incarnate. When one replaces 'I am' with the 'Christ Principle', one would find a symbolic affirmation that we are on the right track in our path to God's Conscioiusness if we get overshadowed by the 'Christ Principle'. The 'dwelling', 'house' and other methaphors for the ultimate goal for men, which is Oness with God, but not in the flesh only in Spirit. Jesus is showing the way and in fact the only way to spiritual advancement by Love, Service and Sacrifice. He is hinting to them what follows (his impending death and ascend). It says, in no uncertain terms that the disciples can have the same eternal life as the Master, if and when they also achieve the same as He. Quote:

Haha, I'm just joking with ya buddy. Don't be that way. I don't have much to talk about concerning this subject. I was a biblical literalist for a couple of years. I started more and more following my conscience or inner teacher until I moved into nonduality teachings. Now I really don't think about the Bible much at all. There's too high a noise to signal ratio to be worth it really. Although I will interpret much of it in a nondualistic light. Like the scripture you quoted said, I follow the Spirit, not the letter. That website is a bit too conspiracy theory for my tastes. I'm more focused on the simple teachings of love and forgiveness. Or the subtle teachings of nonduality. But not analyzing numbers and secrets and UFO and apocalypse stuff. I did that for a bit in high school, but it's not aligned with my heart so it's a waste of time for me. The Spirit is not leading me in that direction. |

"i learn much but believe little" - I like that. My philosophy can be very simple and very complex. I'm too lazy to go into it in full depth as I already did that on another thread recently here: Do you guys agree with this? It's basically follow your heart, compassion, forgiveness, love, kindness. Give up your personal desires for the sake of a greater love. Once you've perfected that, the craving to think is the block to infinite love, so you have to go beyond that through any number of meditation practices where you disown the mind's content. Then you're enlightened and probably need to read David Hawkins books to go any farther. Some of the hidden messages of the Bible to me become clear when you read some nonduality teachings. The kingdom of heaven is within you. (or "in the midst of you") The only way to live is to die. You have to be reborn. You must forsake yourself. To be forgiven you must forgive. Give and it will be given unto you. I am the way, the truth, and the light. Before Abraham was, I AM. Take out the log in your own eye. Etc. These all mean profoundly different things to me than they do to most. Though perhaps not most here. This board is very advanced and well read. | |

a post by my friend uprising..... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the stuff you guys spew is no different than the stuff religious fanatics spew. If things work out, ohhh it was the LoA! If it doesn't work out, you fall on a go to response of, "you didn't believe in it enough" (Religious people would say you are not meant to understand and that its a matter of faith). Well Mr. Seth Williams, why are you not a king? Why can you not levitate and shoot out fireballs? Oh that's right, you don't believe you can do these things, but if you did, they would be perfectly possible. Sorry that had to come out, don't mean anything offensive to you personally. end of post.......... hmmmm...perhaps theuprising should follow his own advice,i didnt get mad myself |
