So I've been thinking lately whether or not this world we leave in is real or all just a figment of our imaginations? I know it sounds crazy but what if we really are all living in a sort of Matrix type of world where we are being controlled. I would love to hear some thoughts on the perception of reality... the deeper the better! :-)

Nisargadatta Maharaj said the only the thing one can know for certain is "I am." So no I guess you cannot be sure the world is real, only that you are observing it whatever it may happen to be. So now the question is, what is you?

i am god. i created everything. then i innitiated a computer program to simulate a 'human' existance and to simulate everything around me. when i die, i'll wake up to an empty universe again and have to think of another way to keep myself busy. you're all just basically entertainment. hahahahhaha how narcistic did that seriously sound? i used to think that for a while=/=/=/ btw i forget the name of it but thats actually a scientific theory of creation that cannot be disproven. the only way to prove it wrong is to try to find a number so big it breaks the 'computer i built' |

What is real and not real for you? How do you know you are real? When you are not real how can you know what is real? Why is a videogame not as real as everything outside of the videogame? Does it play a role when you play, if it's real, or does the question in this moment not exist? The answer can't be found intellectually, basically the question just exists intellectually. But on the other side, yes everything starts with imagination of a dreamer, who can be you and on the "top" it's "source/dreamer/creator". The system of collectives, like this planet is very much like a matrix ~sb |

Hi Within the realization of what you are everything disappears . All that remains within awareness IS WHAT YOU ARE . the universe Is no more . Duality Is no more . So perhaps only what we are Is real . On the other hand what we are experiencing via consciousness within duality Is of our own creation so perhaps everything In existence Is real In that respect . lol . Say a canvas Is what we are and what we are Is Inspired to create a picture upon the canvas . Is the picture any less real than the canvas? |

At the same time, everything is real and illusion. If you knew that something that was real is illusion now, than it is not real. While you believed it to be real, it was real and you didn't question it. Real is a concept that can be understood only in relation to its opposite, the illusion. Ultimately, everything is real because it is obvious. But it is never, never what you think it to be - definition of illusion. |

Everything seems more real when I'm inspired, at a higher level of vibration and more connected with everything around me. I'm trying to reach that point more and more. I know for sure I'm in a world of enslavement when my ego is in control. I now realize that it can't tell me who I really am like "the Matrix cannot tell you who you are". I think we are born and raised to be heavily influenced by our egos until we realize it. Now it's time to free ourselves from it and the process is very fulfilling. I think we all do this in one form or another when we seek for spiritual enlightenement. |

You are constantly suffering because you don't know yourself. Because you're suffering you mask it with pleasure from sense objects and thinking. Because you're preoccupied with pleasure, you don't look at your awareness which is what you are. Because you take yourself to be a dream figure, you believe the dream world is a real world. If you would wake up to yourself as awareness, you would see the dream world as the dream it is. Dreams may come and go but awareness is eternal. |

This is what I have learned (i.e. my truths): All that exists is experience. All experiences already exist and are enfolded in the One Experience. That is to say, all realities already exist as probability streams. They become "real" or "actual" for you when your consciousness is, personally, experiencing them. Experience is synonymous with consciousness. All experiences are connected through higher and more encompassing experiences, or levels of consciousness we might call them. Reality is simply an interpretation you make of consciousness. When multiple personalities interpret energies similarly, they call it "reality". It just means a group of consciousness is translating perception similarly.

I doubt we are though, mainly due to the massive complexity involved in creating the model of the world.

The 'realness' or 'actuality' of any experience is always relative to that which is perceived to be 'not real.' In the case of our day to day physical experience, we can hold our waking experience up to our imagination or the dreams we have while sleeping for comparison. Within this context, our waking life generally appears to have the characteristics of being more 'actual' or more 'concrete' than anything we could ever imagine or any night time dream we could have. In part, This is because our waking experience appears to have more continuity, cause and effect and certain specific laws inherent within it. Is it possible that when our consciousness passes from our physical bodies and this physical realm, that we will experience a reality that seems yet even more 'real' in comparison to this one? I have been told that we will and my understanding about this has been accentuated through considering my night time dreams. While immersed within a dream it very often seems every bit as 'real' to me as my waking life experience. It's only through awakening from sleep in the morning to a more expanded consciousness that I realize that I was 'only dreaming' and in fact that the experience I had that seemed so 'real' actually wasn't...well...that is, it was not 'AS' real as my waking experience. So..we can really only determine that something is 'real' in comparison to something that is less real..and thus, if other experiences await us when/if we move beyond this realm through physical death, it is quite likely that this realm will have it's own level of 'reality' or 'actuality.' A determination of "real" must be relative to that which is not. |

I must say, that... no... this world is not real... Just a dream... within a dream... within a dream... and the rabbit hole goes on forever and ever it seems... But whatever dude... In the end existence exists, and that's real enough for me...
