Default How to use meditation CDs

Hi everyone,

I have both Holosync CDs and Paraliminals borrowed from a personal development guru friend of mine... He has given me some very rough advice on their usage, but I would like to gain a better perspective on these.

Obviously, I know how to listen to stuff, but I am trying to gain a better handle on hat I should or shouldn't be concentrating on while I am listening...

Should I concentrate on listening to the voices/music?

Should I try to empty my mind completely?

Should I visualize myself on a tranquil beach somewhere, listening?

My mind keeps skipping around, and although I can clear my mind I never quite feel like I am doing what is best in order to work with the CDs.

Any advice welcome,

J

Everyone of those CDs is different. I use the Silva one, where I pretty much obey the voice on the CD. Never tried those two, I'd suggest giving your pal a call. I'd hate to steer your wrong

While both holosync and the paraliminals contain instructions in the case they come in, basically just sit/lie down, close your eyes, and listen. Holosync has a ton of support material, including an online newsletter, but all of that is to help process your experiences from listening to the program daily. The listening itself is simple. Don't worry about any special visualizations. Don't worry if you get distracted. Just continue sitting/lying down with the headphones on and eyes closed. As for the paraliminals it's basically the same, but (unless they've changed) they'll even tell you when to close/open your eyes.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the feedback... I will try to get hold of the support material from Holosync, as I think it will be of great use making sense of the changes I'm experiencing.

Sounds (pardon the pun) like I was doing the right thing all along, I just wanted to make sure I am making the most of these CDs.

Thanks,

J

Whatever you do is fine.

The CD is created so that your brain receives the same stimulation no matter what you are thinking about.

This has been emphasized in the program because the point is that you must learn to relax.

Spending time questioning about the best way to do it is worry-some, and defeats the purpose of the program.

You could either, Visualize about all the good stuff you want to experience. Or use it as a meditation tool, and meditate as you normally would.

Whenever a thought comes along, do not fight it. Focus on your breathing, in and out.

Never fight with your thoughts, simply let them be -- which means do not judge the content of the thoughts, and you will realize that they are very fleeting.

It is when you attach meaning and label, and then judge the content of the thoughts that you worry.

But whatever you do is right, remember, you will get same stimuli whatever you do.

I've been having really great results with a Binaural beats CD (Digital drug). I found that it is effective when i am really absent minded and need to build up momentum with my meditation. It allows me to get up some real presence without having to sit there twice a day for a week before I get results.

Just listening seems as effective as meditating.

Just have it on your headphones and wait, but don't try to wait, and you will become aware of the awareness

Hi all,

My sincere thanks to drkirby - I have now realized that I was completely defeating the object of the meditation by trying to force myself to do a particular thing... I have since relaxed and am having a much better time.

I've been using the Centerpointe CDs in this way for a week or so now, and coupled with some LOA work with the Secret and "Ask and it is Given" and I feel genuinely wonderful most of the time now.

Metaphysical hugs and handshakes all round!

L

I'm listening to Brain Sync:

Quote:
Subsequent research determined that binaural beat frequencies could drive or guide brain activity into a wide variety of specific brain states. Thus, effortlessly and naturally, your brain activity slides into rhythm with this binaural beat, becoming organized and coherent. Within minutes, the sound frequencies start to balance the left and right hemispheres of your brain – creating a remarkable state called hemispheric synchronization and driving the electrical activity of your brain into powerful states, normally unattainable.
It works for me getting a deep meditation state...(ASK-BELIEVE-RECEIVE).

They have an interview (podcast) with Jame Ray from the Secret at Kelly Howell blog site

Please post experiences with binaural beat frequencies...

I have been using the Holosync CD's since 2003.

Sit, listen, meditate actively if you wish, if not, that is ok too.

The support material is good if you are having any struggles.

I can say, for me, Holosync is effective.

I am quite curious if anyone has experimented with using xxx-sync, subliminal or paraliminal CDs while doing some kind of not too much mentaly demanding activity - eg. washing dishes, tiding up the room, ironing or other kinds of household activities, or things like taging your mp3 files, organising harddrive etc.

What you think about using brainwave entertainment while being involved in something instead of just relaxing?
