I have just started to try chakra meditation, I listen to a guided meditation while doing this. I have been quite skeptical about chakras, but last year I felt I needed to open my heart, and asked for a hint about how I could, and then realized I needed to dance (impro) and started to do so regularly, which really seemed to work. I used to be so afraid to dance except in very controlled forms (like ballet class) but now I dance liberally alone at home or at a nightclub which feels like a huge breakthrough for me, in just enjoying life, which has been a challenge for me. When I go through the different chakras, everything seems okay, except I cannot find my solar plexus chakra, when I try to focus there my focus goes straight to the heart chakra and I have real difficulty getting it to the right place. And my heart chakra feels way to open, which I think it is, as I can usually feel other peoples emotions easily and get overwhelmed. My throat chakra feels sore and like I have a lot of stuff in my throat. I haven't really had a sense of self in a long time, maybe since my heart breakthrough so maybe the chakras got intertwined in a way? Any tips on how to clear these chakras? Stuff to do? Mediation? Food? Etc? And any good tips on guided chakra meditaton podcasts/audiobooks? would really appreciate some viewpoints |

Your sensitivity to feeling what state your body is in is great. you're listening to and honouring your body and self. And yes, we are guided to do what we need to do if we listen to the inner promptings and take action - that's intuition. The Solar Plexus is located in the section under your diaphragm, so yes it is close to the heart. The feeling of other peoples stuff is because of the heart-chakra, and that's all good. The SP should kick in to let you know when other people have crossed the line. Don't think of your heart or anything as being too closed or too open, things will regulate if you allow them to. There is no real need to control things with the mind. It'll work itself out if you trust that it will, and you'll be pushed in the right direction. This links in with the above, of listening to your body and following/honouring the inner-nudgings... which you have been doing already. Throat is about self-expression, so the the stuff coming up in that area is emotions that having been expressed because you held back or stuffed them down. maybe explore this a little? ask your throat what it is wanting to be expressed and then let that thought go. It'll rise up in it's own time or you might get a response immediately. I'll send you a link through pm to help with clearing, hold on. |

thanks a lot blublossom for your great answer I do a lot of yoga which have made me very sensitive to my body I think. I think it is very interesting that we store a lot of feelings and memory around in our bodies. Sometimes during yoga class, past memories surface, like places I have been to I have forgotten about. The SP and throat makes sense, someone stepped way over the line this summer, and I have not really confronted that, just been avoiding that person ever since. I know I should talk to him or something, and he has tried to reach me many times, but it was so hurtful I cannot get myself to talk to him. This is very unlike me, as I am usually very confrontational and open. I have no idea what to say or do or feel about it so I just try to pretend he never existed. But I have asked my throat now, so maybe something comes up btw, love your avatar Last edited by nube; 11-13-2010 at 01:40 PM. |

No worries. yea, it is. I've experienced stuff come up in yoga as well, though not so much memories as feelings - anger in warrior pose. Some people even start to cry during class. maybe you could express it in a journal? avatar is a tawny frogmouth. thanks |
