So, a very dear and close friend - Tsunka Wakan Sapa (Black Horse) is currently on the hill (hanblechya). When one is crying for a Dream, they do not eat or drink or sleep for four days. During this time, they rely on their friends and family to support them and we do this by eating, drinking, sleeping for them so that they can focus their Intentions on their prayers and songs. Today was a particularly beautiful day. I decided to take my lunch at a local park. I grabbed my sandwich and an apple and sat down at a bench with a lovely lake in front of me and a parking lot behind me. I opened up my sandwich and said a little prayer of thanks and asked that whatever aid my meager meal could provide my friend that it do so. It was so peaceful and relaxing that I barely noticed the pickup truck pulling a trailer pull into the lot behind me. I sat there, looking out over the lake, I felt the breeze on my face and listened to the leaves rattle and scrape as they fell like snowflakes off the trees. But, as all such relaxing and peaceful moments must, it ended all too quickly and I was forced to pack it in and head back to the office. I was taking my sandwich wrapper and a well-gnawed apple core to a trash can and as I passed by the pickup truck, I realized the trailer was a horse hauler. I walked by and who do you think poked their head out of the trailer and "snuffed" at me? Go ahead.... guess.... I'll wait...... Ok... give up? Yep... It was a big, beautiful jet-black horse. So.... Today, I give my thanks to The Creator that he hears our prayers and lets us know in no uncertain terms that when we ask for things with a good Heart and in a good way, we will be answered. Aho mitaque oyasin. |

Mato - The wonderful thing that we can count on is that God ALWAYS answers our prayers. This goes for little ones and big ones, too. It is often easy for us to have faith that God will answer the small prayers. It is sometimes more challenging for us to have faith that God will answer the big ones. It is just as easy for God to provide us with 'coincidences' in big ideas, as it is in the little ones. Blessings - Rev. Della |

That being said, I do agree that all prayers are answered. We usually just don't recognize the answer or want to accept it if we do. 'Cause, you know... sometimes the answer is "No." | |
