Expanded Aura And psychic / spiritual "Gifts"

I was having an interesting conversation with my friend last night, he was telling me about how when your aura is expanded you will start developing psychic / spiritual gifts like astral projection, seeing auras, lucid dreaming etc. I was wondering, how will i know when my aura is expanded? I meditate 2 hrs daily when I can, so usually about 8 hrs a week or more most of the time. He also said something about having 360 degree vision which is called real-time sight. This means that I would have the ability to see dead people (Ghost) with my eyes closed, now I know this ability exists because I've been able to bring it on before. But my question is, with as much as I'm meditating how long do you think it would take for me to start developing these. I've always had a fascination with spirituality and I would never use these things to hurt someone or get revenge. I know and understand that all these gifts are used for your own good which is why you are given them. It would also erase any fear of death and such that I have which is why I have been meditating aswell and it has helped a little. Can anyone give me some insight?

I'd start out with some basic energy work exercises, such as grounding, centering, and shielding. Once those have been accomplished, you can move on to shaping energy, sensing energy, and other related topics - if you can find a willing partner or an energy group in your area, then you can do a lot of these exercises, as well as get confirmation on when you can shape and sense energy.

Keep in mind that everyone will sense energy differently - I sense most energy through emotions, with some tactile feeling as well. Your modality can vary from seeing, feeling, hearing, tasting, even smelling - my teacher can smell energy and diagnose a problem by the "scent" the energy has.

I'm currently writing some basic 101 blog posts about grounding, centering and shielding - I'll return to this post and give you that link once the first post is done.

You're already on the right track with meditation, now you need to stretch a bit beyond your comfort zone. The more that you start attempting to read outside of your own mind, the more you'll sense things outside of your body.

What do you mean reading outside your own mind? Do you mean telepathy or Telekinesis. I've been afraid of telepathy and holding back on that because I'm afraid that if I open it it won't shut off and it'll end up driving me crazy. Can I get a direction on where to go next? I got a friend coming over tomorrow and staying a week so I might beable to work on energy. I'm also trying to expand my neck because I"ve heard thats where most possessions occur. Also, is it possible to astral project anywhere you want? Like say I'm at work and my body is on autopilot, would I just beable to astral project right there? I'm curious as hell about all this and I want to expand as much as possible. Wonder what I can accomplish in about a year xD But yeah, I kinda need a good direction to go from here.

I probably phrased that wrong about "reading outside your mind", but the part about sensing energy outside of your body is definitely the way that you should be going if you want to develop skills in this area.

The first three steps that you'll want to research and practice will be the concepts of grounding, centering, and shielding. These three principles are ways to protect yourself before going into anything deeper into energy/spirit work.

Grounding - Process of equalizing the energy in your body by getting rid of negative energy and refueling with clean energy.

Centering - Bringing awareness to your body and collecting the energy pieces of yourself that have drifted outside of your body.

Shielding - Putting up a protective energy barrier, which serves to protect you from outside negative influences and protect others from your own energy.

You'll find that after you've learned how to ground, center and shield, that you'll become more familiar with how energy works and how you sense it, which is paramount to continuing your development.
