SR and Death.....

Hmm..... I wonder. If you truly believed in SR... would you be afraid to die? I say no.

If you say yes, then you're still holding onto your ego. You’re being the avatar and not the consciousness. Your avatar is a part of your consciousness, as is everything else. The trees, the sky, the people around you, this computer screen you are reading this from, and everything else around you. If your avatar dies, the consciousness that created it would still be in place. Maybe it would just create a new avatar to replace the other one.... I don't know.... But basically it would be like having your thumb encased in gold by way of a horrible smelting accident. You'd be sans one thumb, but still plus a body.

Now, obviously I wouldn't say go do something exceedingly reckless with this, your avatar was placed here for a reason, whatever that is or whatever you want it to be, and that should be accomplished. And also, I see some things in SR as needing to stay in effect. Like the rules of death, for instance. If you suddenly negated that you'd have all kinds of people living forever or coming back from the dead and all other kinds of scary stuff. Some rules shouldn't be tampered with. Others should be because they could benefit all. Like a belief that life is unfair, or that poverty must exist. That kind of stuff. Shiny.

So, fear of death goes bye-bye, but belief in death stays the same. Hmm.....

Eh, just my 2 nickels.

I don't fear death, not even a little bit. Bring it on. I don't fear death of my relatives or enemies or friends or pets...Death is something that has to happen. I have no desire to stop, or slow it.

Death is part of the mission, the journey. Eventually when true self (the true you) has had enough of this physical reality, then you will end the game and go do something else.

Death is a pause or conclusion of the adventure true self is having, I know death is fairly meaningless, 150,000 people (true selves) choose to end the game everyday and 160,000 jump straight into it.

I think the true you, is everlasting and eternal, considering that the vessel it occupys while having an adventure, ends or fails, isn't that important. What you're doing wih that vessel, that earth bound container of true self, right now, that's the cool part.
