| Sit still, close your eyes and think about something you know. Something you know to be real or true, something you've seen or done. You can see it in your mind can't you? Okay, now do the same thing, but this time think of something you've never seen or had experience of. Make something up, something crazy, something you have never seen before or never had experince of. Did it have the same feeling of being a real image? The first one I did was a mental image of my new truck, but the second one I did was a fighter plane on the runway with a cow sticking out of the side of it. It just poppped into my head instantly, totally random (very kooky Now where did those two images come from? The first came from memory, but the second was a completely brand new created image, but both thoughts are manifestations, but manifestations from where and/or who? I always thought (pun intended) that thought was doing the creating, but it's not. Thought is a manifestation of self. Self is doing the creating. I suppose this is what Steve means by consciousness is running the show, but I don't think he explains that very well. While thoughts are instructions to program or create reality, it's the self or consciousness that is doing the thought manifestaton and in turn manifesting the output of thought. Self is the creator, not thought, thoughts are manifestations of self. It's interesting to consider, why we even need thoughts, sometimes they seem to get in the way of what we want. You want a new truck and all the thoughts of why and how you can't have it come to mind and then you work through them to find the the thoughts that help you get it. Maybe by choosing a physical reality, we need thoughts to make the interaction of self and reality run smoothly. Another interesting thing about self is how powerful it truly is and yet we are very detached from it. It's running the show, our show, our life, but we seem very distant from it. Another thing.....Are beliefs thoughts? Isn't a belief a choice, a decision you've made about something. You believe the sky is blue, but is that a thought? No, it's a decision you've made that defines something about your world. You don't think the sky is blue, you know it is. Imagine if you knew you had $1M in the bank, you know it, you believe it, you don't think you have it, it's s belief, not a thought. I found this to be helpful about explaining thought and self, I don't subscribe to all of it, but I found it to provide a simplier explanation. | Instead of getting into a long winded post about my experiences and why I know what you say to be 100% true I will just say, nice post. Well said. Words of wisdom people...said knowledge can be quite daunting tho...or empowering..if truely understood. Everything is self nothing is not self. Self can be configured in an infinite way...thus is the life you see before you...all of it the same, yet all of it different. Last edited by DoAnyOfYouExist : 03-19-2007 at 12:41 AM. |

| I have always wondered where my thoughts came from, especially the one's I'd never had before. Know ThySelf. Self is (the true) you. Self believes (knows) something. Self creates (thoughts) to instruct reality to reflect that belief. It's not about thoughts, it's about self and what self chooses to believe. Thoughts are important, but not the source. What self truly believes, will win over any thought regardless of it's frequency and/or emotion. Your fundamental beliefs will build your reality, not your thoughts. That's why somethings won't manifest or take a long time because beliefs are more powerful than thoughts. Change your beliefs and then the thoughts will change and then reality will change. I think Steve covers this in faster goal achievement, instead of working inside the belief system, work on the system itself. HTH Jeff |
