I happen to be a Christian. I write this in spite of the hint of anti-christian tilt here because I want to have a place to write about the work I am doing with prayer. No doubt that many here do not share my views which I understand and value. All are welcome regardless of your POV. But while I want to have a place to write about what I am doing and what I am discovering I will say that I am not going to be defending my views, simply writing about my experiences of the interior and exterior for the next 30 days. One of the things that has always been difficult for me is reading the Bible. A large part of that is the "should" factor and another large segment is the proof-texting judgmental hypocrites that turn my stomach. Nonetheless, it has become clear to me that in order to move beyond where I am now ((which I find unfulfilling and dysfunctional) it is time to make some changes and reading scripture will be part of that discipline. I expect that through daily reading and prayer that I will be given insight and understanding that will be life altering and that I will begin to develop an interior life that will give me access to a greater consciousness which I know as God. Aligning my thoughts and will to that greater consciousness is exactly what I have wanted to do for some time. But I have lacked the daily discipline. For the next 30 days, I will meditate, read scripture, pray and run daily and write about my experiences and insights here. |

What about reality, specifically, are you looking to change in the 30 days? How will you know if you changed it -- I mean, how will you measure it? Best wishes, I'm pulling for you! Let me know if you need a little extra prayer -- it seems to be working wonders for me lately (although my prayers are probably a little different from yours |

Thank you The Master. I so love your attitude. Angela - I have been uncovering some obstacles for a number of years and working on psychological healing of deep wounds from earliest of my years. 9 years ago yesterday began a series of extraordinary pain, suffering and loss that went on for several years. I have been getting back on my feet for some time but been hampered by some debilitating anxiety disorders which have had controll over my life in many ways. I have a friend who is going through a difficult time as she learned that her husband lost his job through non-performance and meanwhile ran up credit cards and loans on the house (which she bought before they married.) We are working together to change our situations through prayer. Part of the reality is about finding the right work to provide the right income so that we can provide for our children and ourselves and get ourselves out of debt. My prayers today have given my insight about "discipline". That word has always meant taking on something like a yoke. But today I recognized that it is more about being driven by a hunger. 9 months or so ago I had an incling about this shift. I saw that there was something of a flip to switch - to move from fear to determination. I am using prayer and meditation to move into a place of hunger and determination. And to believe that I have already received even before it is manifest. I am doing it. Everything up until now has been prologue. |

At a point its about finding spiritual practices that appeal to you and just doing them. Your undertaking these practices for however long is wonderful. With no attachment to results. Just the pure act, done regularly, with commitment, is an essential element to liberation, transformation. Blessings and Light! |

For 4 days I have seen clear progress. It takes me several hours of prayer and meditation to overwrite my long held patterns of fear and self-condemnation so that I can move into action and accomplish a specific task. But these are tasks that I have had as goals for months and been unable to do anything about. I have a tendency to be critical about the small amount that I have accomplished but that is part of the old pattern. So I work on refocusing on what I have accomplished. For 4 days running I have made order and cleanliness in my child's bedroom and playroom. I should post before and after pictures - you would not believe. But even better - I have walked and/or run for 4 days - and that is a goal that I have had for several years with little action. I believe that as I continue in this process, the action and progress will grow and the results will become dramatically manifest. I look forward to writing more soon. One of my goals is to request money from a family member to help me through this rough patch while I get my business going. I have developed a strategy and am working on my mindset of having already received and repaid. |

Progress continues. Opened another locked prison door this morning - 20 minutes of meditation. I stepped through and kept on walking. More order being created. Planning and action to follow. functioning replacing dysfunction. |

May I ask how you do it? I mean, how does prayer get you to clean your kid's room? Do you do an "affirmation prayer" or a promise to god that you will clean the room? Not messing with you here, honestly just curious. |

Hi Greek Dog. I am also a Christian and wish you the best in this. If I were looking for healing, I would concentrate on reading the Gospels, since that's where we encounter Jesus, our Healer and Friend. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Mt 11:28-30, NIV). "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world" (Jn 16:33, NLT). Just some of my favorite "snapshots" of Jesus that seemed appropriate to your situation... |

Metaphorph - I was writing out a lengthy responce and the entire thing just disappeared. I am going to now answer in brief because I must be somewhere. And I hope to have a chance to come back and fill in the gaps. Brief may leave out so much as to not be an answer but here goes. My resistance is more than just not doing it. And cleaning in an indescribable understatement. The story requires more explication in both of these areas. But resistance is more of an OCD type paralysis. I have found help in both focusing my intention and overcoming repeated and oft building resistance with specific scripture and other broader prayer. But in essence two verses are at the kernal of what I am doing and here are those two verse: Mark 11:23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. [This verse helps me actually stand up and move forward to be in position. But I then face mounting and indescribable resistance. So I shift and apply this:] I John 5:13 I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in the peculiar service and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life. This gives such a small portion of how I use this but it is the kernal and gives a inkling of how I am using prayer to accomplish this. Now that I have accomplished that task I will use this on other projects including my finances. I do hope to write more about this later. (Dumah - part of this post goes to respond to you as well. Thank you for your suggestion and encouragement.) |

metamorph - I wanted to add that I have also been using thoughts, words and somgs of gratitude to elevate my energy vibration level which tends to the dark and low. The past two days have been definitely low and I have accomplished little. It is time for a boost and a new level of planning - next step. |

Working on identifying obstacles and shifting them. Identified an obstacle that has created significant obstuction for some time. Now I am working on shifting that energy into something transformative. I have a list of about 9 obstacles emotions that will need tranforming. I am interested to see how this will play out. |

Progress, progress, progress. Finding that meditation is strengthening EFT and together I am getting important, valuable insights into anxiety that has had me by the ankles. Meditation is also producing moments when the valve is opened and omnipresent anxiety drains out. What an experience! Continued meditation promises to expand these experiences. What growth abounds. |

More work, more results. meditating and tapping created some order in my list of obstacles. I saw a list of aspects of the dark cloud. Then the two lists began to part and align under two distinct headings: 1) Fear of death; psychic and physical and 2) self-condemnation. I saw that the first had priority and authority over the second. A torture victim is forced to stand for days on end. If he or she slump or fall asleep or unconscious the dip o the body causes excruciating pain and electrical shock. The standing beyond abiliity becomes the norm. In this same way, the fear of death was the excruciating pain that was to be avoided at all costs including the nomalization of the self-condemnation and perpetual anxiety. the first to be addressed ( lessened or alieviated) is the penalty for slumping. The light can be increased with determined focus ( like an ant biting through steel) but the dark must be dissipated as well. |

More stuff emerging to be released. This is the part of this kind of work that I enjoy the least. As I progress more and more seems to emerge - almost without abate. But I would rather release it than allow it to fester unrecognized for years to come. |
