Super senses

I thought about putting this in health and fitness but realized that it is moreso to do with consciously waking up so I decided to put it here.

Lately I have begun to notice my senses picking up, particularly my ability to smell. For example a few times when I have been sitting in class at the college, and I sit way at the back, about 50 feet or so from the instructor. When he opens up his felt pen to write on the whiteboard I would focus upon it and suddenly I'd smell it, and even if I sniffed real hard the smell was so strong that I almost cough - its as if he was standing right there drawing on my face (and yes I looked all around because I was a little startled to make sure no one else had a felt pen - no one did and no one has at any of the times this has happened to me with different smells). I thought- what is going on here? So I asked a few people beside me and none of them could smell it. So I tried to do this with the wall, and I could smell the wall - smelled like dirt (I went up to it after class and it was the same smell) then I tried smelling some girls perfume in the front row (from 50 feet away mind you) and I could smell the beautiful fragrance (again I walked behind her as we were leaving class and took a good sniff and it was the same smell). Then I tried smelling the felt pen again - same smell.

This has happened several times. I am wondering if anyone wants to throw out their theory on why this is happening? And is anyone else experiencing the same or a similar thing?

One of my theories is that because I have been heightening my other senses - this is merely a byproduct. Since the beginning of this year I've begun learning to see aura's - and have been getting really well at it. I have also been performing sound meditation, whereby I put on headphones with techno music and visualize the soundwaves (visualzing a wave that moves with the tone of the sound - multiple waves, one or several for each beat/sound, it is quite stimulating). I have also begun practicing energy meditation and can really feel the energy. I am also attending the gym regularly and practicing physical yoga.

So that is 3 other senses.. leaving smell, so I guess it is a possibility that due to heightening them, my sense of smell is also increasing.

Another theory of mine is that I am tuning into the energy vibration of the smell, and my body is interpreting it allowing me to smell things from a distance.

I usually experience super hearing at times, like I'll hear something so faint that most people wouldn't be able to hear it until I point it out and they really focus intently.

It could be the meditation, but I am not sure.

Well, I have more accurate senses that way most of the people.
I can read letters they can't read, hear sounds they can't hear, smells they can't smell and so on.
But I've never got that far like you.

Same here. I do frequently have my senses jump up about 5-10 fold from normal(my normal) and it is always a very intense experience. I just think of it as a blessing rather than a curse, even though it can be quite painful(quite pleasurable too). Whatever extra cards I am given in the game of life I will use to their fullest potential, and any glimpse I catch of a new card I will never forget.

I entered some room full of people and I said... "I smell like smoke... don't you smell it?" "They ignored me, they didn't noticed a thing..." I somehow forgot about it... but... well... I had to say again soon... "Something is burning somewhere near, sure" and we looked around and there was fire inside some little room.
It happens with music when I hear some things that are "impossible to be heard"... they say... or I can hear two conversations at the same time, that annoyed some teacher I had on high school. I was talking with my friend on the right and she asked me about what was she explaining... and I told her about it word by word (I can even still remember what she was talking about...).... she didn't ask again...

I don't think is something especially good, maybe it's a sign of physical health, I don't smoke, no alcohol... all these disturb your senses. And my curiosity does the rest. Though the feelings of pain are bigger too.

Yeah exactly, what is that with smell?
I noticed that whenever I feel really awakened, like after a few days of meditating the sense of smell is overwelming. And now I remember that it is also correlated with seeing aura's for me! I remember getting on a bus and there was an awful stench in it. Nobody seemed to care but I couldn't take it and got off. That day I was also seeing peoples aura's, although it was more imaginary for me, I don't know how to really spot an aura. What is this? Anybody else has this experience?

All I did was practice the exercises on the second page in this link (I also suggest reading all of the information contained there so that you understand what the aura is and why/how the following exercises work): Aura - Learn to see your Aura image with your own eyes with the blue / red circles. Practice them every day for 3-15 minutes and then after you are good with the 2nd exercise practice it by staring at peoples heads (I've been staring at the back of their head in class so as to not scare them) and the aura has been showing up for me.

Keep in mind that most people now aday's have very small aura's due to spiritual weakness, some are bigger than other's.

I've seen them mostly about 1-3 inches in width around people.

Right now it takes me about 15 seconds of staring (to give the more sensitive/weakened [from lack of use] visual receptors to get vibrating to a high enough level for me to percieve the auric energy). With practice I have no doubts that I will be able to view the aura with a quick glance.

When I see them it looks like a butane flame (similar to when you light up a shot glass full of alcohol) around the person, it contains different colors that are all overlapping and 'fluttering' like a flame, sometimes one person will have a really dominant colour and thats all I will see, other times there will be multiple colours (I have seen blue, green, red, yellow, and orange so far), another comparison would be like the movement of the northern lights (http://orden-tvorca.org.ru/aura/032401_2.jpg).
