The following things keep popping up on my radar: - live consciously (Steve) - mind like water (David Allen) - don't believe your own mind, don't listen to your own head (Harv Eker) - detachment from the ego (Eckhart Tolle) Who am I then? Pure consciousness? Is that really who I am? Isn't it only the ignorance of objective reality? Am I not going to miss the most important and valuable parts of human life if I don't listen to my mind, detach myself from the ego etc? What about "being a human"? I tend to live consciously and whenever I do I feel like I'm "above" the many unconscious people on this planet and missing out on a lot of great stuff. How do you handle that? |

There isn't an 'ignorance of objective reality' as you put it, because at this moment the objective aspect of reality is being expressed within all the forms around us, therefore we don't deny this. but where there is form, there is the formless, which is the essence of all that can be touched, seen, smelt, etc. The ideal is said to be the balance between experiencing form while available, but at the same time embracing the essence that is responsible for bringing about form, or the objective world, which is only the surface. So the idea is to enjoy the world (being a human) but not to become attached to it, to become clingy, which can happen in many ways. To be grateful for what has been given, regardless of what label you apply to it: Good, bad, not enough, etc. Quote:
But just because you're becoming more conscious doesn't mean that you shouldn't also include yourself in activities that can be enjoyed by many, even those you may at first consider 'below you' on a conscious level. It's just a matter of not identifying with the activity, otherwise you will suffer when it's no longer available to you. Better to think of any activity you find enjoyable to do as a spiritual practice, the medium in which you express being through. Have a abundant day. | ||

It's funny that what is on your radar is the stuff that is of the mind. What I notice about the list is that there isn't any joy, love, gratitude, pleasure, or happiness on it. Conscious Self Awareness has a lot of Love to it. |
