Default All motivation to create and sustain life

Tony Robbins says that all human motivation is to get out of pain and into pleasure. I guess this works on some levels,

but I devised my own model today, that all human motivation is to either create life, or sustain life.

Which is one step back from Darwin's; survive and reproduce model. But I think by create life, it can mean anything creative that we do, listening to music, having sex, baking a cake. And by sustain life, I mean paying off bills... bombing another country (so your country will be safer) etc. But also positive things, like building bridges or a house, fetching a bucket of water from the well.

and I suppose there's lots of things that both create and sustain life, like going to sleep at night, so our bodies rest, and we can get up tomorrow, and also having dreams where we explore our unconscious creative mind. Or we cook a stir fry that's creative and tasty as well as nutritional..

Does this model work for you guys in any way? It's possible I've just gone insane

Could we not say it's part of the same thing? It's like we're wired to enjoy sex, wired to enjoy creating, etc.

Why are we passionate about what we're passionate about? I have no idea... we just are. It's something deeper than an intellectual decision, y'know? Just seems some people are wired to enjoy different things. It's part of the inherent diversity within All That Is.

All those things we do to create or sustain life may also just be because on some deep level, we derive a sense of pleasure and joy from them, and as Abraham says, the purpose of life IS joy.

It's nice to see Robbins has caught up to Epicurus.

Human motivation, or human action? Why the distinction between creation and sustenance? Why life? What is life?

I guess what I was saying was that all things kind of have a survival replication agenda, in whatever variation, but to be honest, I think I was just going a bit crazy when I posted this

Yeah, I don't think what I said was all that deep, but it was just my thoughts for the moment..
