On light

Just a thought about light Ive had for awhile. I don't know if this would make sense unless you've had an experience where the light seems extra beautiful, I think they are called "white light experiences".

My thought is can the light be trusted? Maybe it is some kind of existential trap to get sucked into. Blinded by the light if you know what I mean? Lucifer being the 'light bearer' would be an example from spiritual literature pointing towards caution in this area. Who is to say that if there is a consciousness behind light, it automatically has your best intentions at heart?

I'm reminded of quote by one of the famous russian authors, either Tolstoy or Dostoevsky that went something like "Who is to say that what is beautiful is good?" I wonder how many religious fanatics had white light experiences on their way to murdering people?

Have any of you have had white light experiences and what are your thoughts on them?

When you start asking questions like who can I trust?

The answers and the trust issues just spring up more and more.. the truth is you can trust.. and white light especially.. you see you have this idea that the devil exists I believe you stated "lucifer" and I'll go with you and say he exists

But here's the thing.. that you seem in denial about.. you are LUCIFER.. you are not separate from him.. everything that exists in creation from trees to buttered toast is you.. and even those dark things we here in this limited reality get scared about our still us.. to reveal the illusion is to reveal the truth.. that which are afraid of whether it's your fellow human or some imagination idea of evil in your head called "lucifer" is all still YOU..

So here's a idea.. I didn't say it was easy.. but how about trying the idea that everything is you? how about acknowledging the good and bad inside yourself? the Duality as it were.. how about when seeing dark.. just radiate love and understanding and allow those you's who are doing the darker job a little smile and a little idea of "you could go this way.. if you want"

If I understand right.. LIGHT is what were made of and all the lights out there in variations with some grey's are still us.. I would suggest the idea of letting go of things that don't serve you.. but as it's your life, it's your choice

I would trust what I see more than what other people, the scriptures, etc. are telling you. But like TheMaster, I would conjecture that seeing increasingly more light as you walk along your spiritual path is a good thing. Do you see increasingly more light in your life, dreams, etc.?

i do not think, generally speaking, white light is a problem. i'd say it's a good thing actually, based on what i know. but much of my spiritual experiences are related to feelings, that is how i know if i can trust it.

i see you are working from a very intellectual perspective, trying to use logic and the rational mind for this. i think with the richness and variety of experience, what is true for one person may not be true to another. i definitely don't think white light is a dark force; others may disagree. in my few past visual experiences involving angelic presences, they appeared as outlines or 'shadows' of white light (obviously not real shadows but a light version of a shadow is the best way i can think of to describe it). those energies only had my highest good in mind and they honored my free will every moment - so i know i can trust them.

if you want a position you can trust for this topic, you may not be satisfied with what anyone says here (and then again, you might). one way to be better able to trust an answer is by asking your gut and your heart (not your mind/head) whether you can trust any white light you experience. our inner selves are connected to limitless knowledge and we can listen to the inner self. if you don't connect with it very often the response might be subtle, but it's definitely there.
