By meditation I do not mean "new age meditation" where-by you visualise colours, lights, bright sea-fronts and repeat affirmations. I mean traditional mindfulness where-by you focus on the present moment, usually the breath, and clear the mind of all thoughts as they occur by awareness of the present. I've tried googling and everything I've found has been junk. I'm specifically looking for either a forum (for discussion) or some kind of progress blog or personal blog - not a tacky commercial throw-aways with trashy 700 word articles on how to relax R |

I have a blog that discusses meditation along with a variety of other techniques for change. Awareness and acceptance (which I feel to be the core of mindfulness meditation) are discussed frequently... and are the background even in posts that aren't directly speaking about them. But you can take a look and tell me what you think If you are looking for pure mindful meditation... I am a big fan of Shinzen Young... You can check out his site at: You can see his youtube channel at: keep smiling, Ben |

Hi Ben, As it turns out I had already come accross your site on my own, I believe you are on the first page of google for "Minfulness blog" or something of that type. I found it to be one of the better sites, although not ideal for me because I am interested in pure awareness meditation whereas you seem to be exploring many different types of meditation and spiritual activity. I very much liked your 30 day journal of mindfulness - infact I haven't found anything else similiar anywhere on the net yet. As for Shinzen... yes I like him too. But I'm not too keen on his "new age spiritual guide" feel - I much prefer people like Matteau Ricard. Rich |

Hi, RagstoRiches, A couple of resources I've enjoyed are the candle meditation at this site: FREE guided meditation downloads with various meditation techniques. (see middle top). They also have a forum - not sure if it's up your alley or not. Also, MANY many companies and individuals have uploaded meditations onto YouTube lately, and quite a few are very good...there is an almost staggering variety of styles and genres. Hope you find something helpful, SMA |

| The Mindfulness Forum is a brand new mindfulness-specific forum over at MindfulnessWeb.Net. Still in the toddler stage, but the only one of its kind as far as I know. |

Hi Rich, I quite like these two forums. Dhamma Wheel | View forum - Meditation (General) | A Buddhist forum Meditation Also, you might be interested in doing this online course in mindfulness/meditation. Unfortunately you would have to wait a month until the course reopens again. I did it a few months back and it helped with my practice. Online Courses: Insight Meditation Center Pete |
