Hitting spiritual plateaus

In between "breakthroughs of truth" and raising my vibrational frequency and consciousness, I often hit a plateau for extended periods of time. It actually feels like I'm moving backwards(or downwards), but if I stop to think about it, my beliefs are still the same. So I guess I should call it a plateau, but during these periods I feel really..I dunno bored I guess, or without purpose. Does anyone else get this too?

yeah i get that, i usually ask myself "what is lacking at this moment ?" and then i feel more content because there isnt really anything lacking.

Yes, that happens a lot. This usually happens (to me) after reading a lot of material (for example, anything metaphysical) - and is often followed by this plateau. I see it as I am 'digesting' and 'processing' the information I have 'downloaded' or adjusting to the new information.

While in this mode, I am often restless and feel a little lost - - yet can't quite get into anything new until I have finished. I use this time to get physical (gardening, cleaning) and/or creative (gardening, etc.) -

Use to drive me nuts, until I realized I just needed to find something else to do until it passed.

This happens to all people who are seekers of higher consciousness but it may be recounted in different ways. The ego is the culprit. The ego does not want you to reach a higher level because if you do, it will disappear and therefore be useless. You know the ego has brought you back down to its level when beliefs reappear. Keep practicing and good luck.
