Yesterday me and my four friends did an experiment that blew our minds. I'm not sure what we tested here, but I'm sure some of you guys will have interesting theories about it after you try it. What we did was the four of us, two guys under 66 kilos (that's 145 pounds), and two girls even lighter, lift the fifth guy using only our index fingers. This friend is tall and masculine, and weights 100 kg straight (220,45 pounds)! And we lifted him above our heads! The experiment goes like this: 1. The person you're going to lift (choose the heavy one) sits on a chair and lifts his elbows on the side, on the height of his shoulders. His forearms are in 90' to his upper arms (like Barbie's hands), and his hands relaxed. Now he's supposed to relax his whole body. Give him 20 seconds or so for that. I think he HAS to be relaxed. 2. The four people who are going to lift him stand around him, and put their hands above his head, palms down. Each is supposed to use one hand for this. You put them like four musketeers, but with 10 cm space between each hand and his head. (4 inches) In this position, one of you (or all, I think it's the same) count to 10. 3. Now you're going to lift him (he's still relaxed, not speaking or moving) . This time the four of you use both of your index fingers. You put your hands like you're mimicing a pistol. The two of you stand behind him and put you index fingers under his armpits. The other two do the same under his knees. (You're supposed to act like you're really going to lift him as if he was heavy) Now you lift him as high as you can. If it works, he'll be light as a baby for a moment, long enough to lift him above your heads! When he start feeling heavy again, you put him back to chair. This happens when you all start laughing at how easy this is! The one in the air wil open his eyes then. When we did it, we immediately tried it again but only the lifting, without the counting and 'musketeers' thing. Of coursse, he was too heavy for our fingers. We proved it works. We were amazed to see each of us lift 25 kg (55,115 pounds) in the air, using only two our fingers. Try it with your friends. It's easier than it sounds. One of us was even very sceptic about it but we did it still. Don't try it if no one belives you and ridiculs you. Find open-minded fellas who like to try new things. We were all easy on this, not concentrating hard, just giving it a try. (I even laughed while counting!) Post your experiences with it, especially the theories you come up with. I think it's some kind of collective energy we summed up. And choose the heaviest among you. You won't doubt it you managed it. Happy lifting!

Wooaa synchronicity! I came across this last Saturday. I was in bar with some classmates, one of whom is big into magic tricks. He asked us did we want to learn how to "leviate" someone and sure enough we did. We lifted a 90Kg man over our heads with almost no effort. We were so shocked we almost dropped him before laughing. I've no idea how it works but it's alot of fun to do.

I also heard of Buddhist monks able to levitate(i.e. neutralize the gravity) of 2000 pounds heavy stones with the only help of drums and vocal resonating chants, just like Sri Chinmoy can lift an elephant, airplane or over twenty people with his body. Oh, monks could levitate the stone without touching it. Last edited by Mayo; 01-24-2007 at 02:32 PM. |

Followed your links, went to Body Mind & Modem and found similar tricks. Can't wait to demonstrate them with my bigger friends... angelicfruit: Today I had THE syncronicity day...maybe it's contagious?

What you did actually used to be an old game I played as a kid when we were little. I always wanted to be the one lifted because it just felt so nice and relaxing, and to openly trust people like that. Didn't know at the time we were manifesting a miracle, we thought it was just a cool little levitation game. I sometimes wonder if all these weird things that happen to us as adults seem almost miraculous but as kids, it's just natural. Maybe it's something we are supposed to know but we forgot, and when we remember or are taught again it seems to be wonderful in nature, and everything else we have known as adults falls flat and mundane. |

I used to do this with friends almost 20 years ago in school, thank you to remind me! The only and unhealthy difference is that the person who´s going to be lifted had his head pushed heavily down for the lifters for about 10 seconds. It was part o f the trick, to "move the gravitional center"...amazing 9-10 years old kids explanations... Well, it always worked, and the lucky one almost flew above our heads before turns heavy again |

I have seen in TV yogis of Hinduism floating at least a feet high in thin air in a seated position. The power of meditation is immense!
