Default Melancholy

There is an expression in German, "to make a face like seven days of rain". Well, it has been raining in Boston for the last seven days so you can imagine how we feel right now.

My spiritual journey has changed me in many ways. I think I feel much more upbeat and positive now than 5 or 10 years ago. However, as the introduction reveals, this does not preclude having sad phases as well. I believe what has changed is that now I just know that the clouds will soon pass and the sun will be shining brighter than before.

Spiritual path travelers have the same karma to work off like everyone else. The only thing you can aspire to do, is not to accumulate any new one going forward. Failures or setbacks can and will happen, but they come with the realization that these events are just learning experiences. They will also disappear as fast as a thunder storm on a warm summer day. There is an unbelievable trust that no matter what the circumstances, things will work themselves out magically the next day.

Well, perhaps not the next day.

And they won't work themselves out - they need you to do that because you do it so well, you with the free will and all.

The sunshine's inside you; you know that. Let it rain...

Talking Hey

Hey brother,

I am glad you are awakened and realized on your journey back home, I hope that your days get brighter and brighter as you move on. It's normal for you to experience days of being very down, because how else would you learn and understand what emotions you feel?

It's all an experience we all face in our everyday lives, at least until we reach the complete awakening state, also known as enlightenment. So just continue, and don't give into your ego, ever.

I really suggest you watch out for 'the dark night of the soul' it can be quite dangerous for any seeker who is ready to progress. Basically the way it works is when you are deep within your path and have realized something, you in a sense can overcome this really depressing feeling and come through to the bright side, or lured in by the ego and cause you to suffer for a long time, some have gone insane...I've known some who almost got caught into this state of mind, and read/heard about some who ended up in mental instituations.

If you want a deeper coverage of this 'night' that lures in once in a while PM me, I'd be glad to talk and help and give you some links.

I wrote an article on this issue, as well as some others that relate, if you have time you can read through it if you want some help, up to you though:

Guide My Spirit - Paranoia

GWBD, Good Luck!

Thanks Michael, that's what I meant. There is an unbelievable trust that a solution to every problem can and will be found. I believe the Course in Miracles stated something like that, do not underestimate the ability of problems to disappear resolve after the lesson has been learned - it is true!

Dear GuideMySpirit, I met a dark corner of my soul once and it was a fascinating experience to stand up to it. You learned so much about the workings of the ego that way. Thanks for the warning.
