Some of us think we create everything in reality and that is the answer to everything - life, LoA, the meaning of existence, etc. But I think, to adopt that view, is just as dogmatic, or limiting, as believing in a vengeful, creator god. It is just a belief we are comfortable with. If we accept the universe and/or consciousness as infinite, then we must accept that there are many possible answers, many possible alternatives. Just contemplating the hugeness, the vastness and the awesomeness of the universe must make us think, 'Here I am, with my little ego, a tiny organism on a tiny planet, revolving around a tiny sun, in a tiny galaxy, worrying about things like my weight and money'. I think we have only touched the tip of the iceberg with regard to understanding the cosmos. Here is an image which came to mind which gave me a momentary glimpse of how vast this may be. Picture this universe as a ripple, or wave, which began like a stone dropping into a pool. The ripple begins and moves outwards. On that ripple is our whole universe (as we know it) - not just the physical, but all of our history and all our ideas about time and space. We ride on that wave for millions of years, till, eventually, it peters out. Meanwhile, there are other ripples, containing other universes, moving out, from other centres. Some collide with each other, causing cataclysmic events. Some merge into others. Some are very weak and of short duration. Some are powerful and last for unimaginable periods of time. And, perhaps, there is a source. Perhaps, there is a God, dropping stones into that cosmic pool. Who knows? All I know is - I know so little. That makes me feel humble and awestruck, and it makes me feel glad. It makes me feel joyful, knowing that God has created all of this and he hasn't forgotten about me. He is far from my comprehension, but I trust in him. Universes may come and go, but so what? God is with me. I am safe. For those who are scratching their heads, and thinking, 'Was there a question in there?', 'What is the point of the thread' - well, try to be still and listen to the sound of the wave. One of the posters who comes to mind, as I write this, who I sense has penetrated these depths and glimpsed that awesome vastness with any respect and humility, and attempted to communicate it, is Anagogy. Hasta luego. |

Yah, but why do you know so little.. ?? Can't you even imagine knowing more?? Nothing wrong with stupidity or shall we say 'ignorance' (neutral) you can live your life perfectly happy that way.. I'm just saying you do have a choice to know more Quote:

Things tend to go in cycles of birth, growth, decay and death. What powers the waves - the wind. The strength of the wind determines the power and duration of the wave. What powers/sustains the universe? Where does its energy come from? Quote:
Yes, I gathered that. | ||

The vastness of beingness that comprises existence puts me in a similar state of awe as well. To see infinity sprawling out before you is a humbling experience. We are so small, in some respects, and yet, we are fundamental pieces of the whole. The idea of perfection is such an awesome and magical thought. Every day I'm shocked and amazed at the new things I discover, and realize how much more there is to learn yet still. And I feel truly blessed to be acquainted with everybody on this forum. | |
