Like 10 decades  There are some great New Age books from the 1800s. I guess the author is calling them "New Thought" to differentiate and led creedance to his conspiracy theory. A rose by any other name? New Age? New Thought? No matter what you call it, it wasn't invented in the 1970s. Jennifer |

The New Age movement started in the 70's, it was derived from the New Thought Movement of the 20th century (that's the actual name given to that metaphysical age, look on wikipedia). The CIA has been around a long time, before it was known as the CIA, it was called the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) which was the counterpart of the British Secret Intelligence Service (which was formed in 1907 as the Secret Service Bureau), and even years before that there were different secret intelligence groups formed for different purposes dating back to the late 1800's right around when the metaphysical B.S. really took off. You both clearly didn't read the whole article. There are so many disturbing facts made, especially about two of the most popular spiritual books, a course in miracles, and seth speaks, which have roots to the CIA. Does that not disturb anyone in the least? |

I did read the whole article. I happen to disagree with the accuracy of it. Not to mention the entire premise. I also think there is an underlying assumption in the article that anything associated with the CIA, or covert intelligence, is necessarily a negative or bad thing. That would also be false. Maybe because "New Age Freaks" are pacifists, easy to control and manipulate. (Ie: they believe anything you tell them as long as it's wrapped up in mysticism...) Not that I personally believe that. That's just my view of why the CIA might be interested in pursuing that agenda. I find it far fetched. Jennifer |
