What I mean by inviting music, is music(no lyrics or very little) that I could close my eyes to and just move my body to. I find meditation music too slow and relaxing most of the time. I would like something to use for more like moving meditation. To dance or move around the room to some sounds or music. Thank you. |

Check out Snatam Kaur's Sikh devotional music Amazon.com: Live in Concert: Snatam Kaur: Music There are samples on that page, Number 7 Aad Guray Nameh is a cool tune. the only singing is mostly chanting and the tempos vary from slow to upbeat. Some of the songs (like Gobinda Hari) start slow and get much faster towards the middle/end. I have all her stuff but the live cd is probably the best. Last edited by joelr; 04-22-2009 at 10:08 PM. |

How about something Irish? I don't know how well it works with meditation, and you probably shouldn't have your eyes closed. But it sure makes you move. irish - Jamendo |

Rusted Root is world music with awesome beats. Zakir Hussain is an awesome tabla player, his work is mostly rythmic. Oh, check out Gabrielle Roth, cool rythmic trance-y stuff. CD Baby: GABRIELLE ROTH & THE MIRRORS: Jhoom Last edited by joelr; 04-25-2009 at 11:06 PM. | |

I can't say I have anything specifically in mind that really fits what you're looking for; the only thing without lyrics I'm listening to currently is the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 soundtrack, which is a little more driving than I think you're looking for. You might want to check out Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd. It's about 20-30 min long if you play all the parts back-to-back and for most of that time there's no lyrics. It might be a little too mellow, but I really have nothing to judge to recommend a good piece for you. Good luck.
