Hi everyone, I've been engaged in vipassana meditation for a couple of months and I gained a lot of insights about the true nature of reality. I pay close attention to my thoughts and feelings ( as much as I can) and contemplate their arising and passing away. As of late, a lot of energetic phenomena has been happening to me, mainly in sleep. About a month ago, I could feel my spine ( talibone to back of my skull) shivering violently. This happened about four times that night. About three weeks ago, I felt as if something ( a star/ a ball of energy) going out of my diaphram ( solar plexus area). Doing some research I found that all these are kundalini phenomena. On the other hand, I've been increasingly restless, sometimes my teeth have a numbing sensation, there's a slight vibration around the top of my nose/forehead, but the restlessness is the most pronounced. All these stuff are not necessarily life altering- annoying at most; but i'd like to know more about them I'd like to know, who else is going through such phenomena? What do these mean? Can I manage these by doing kundlini meditation?. Is my life going to be altered in a significant way? tx |

Congratulations. The kundalini energy within your body is awakening. Your chakras are opening and coming into conscious awareness. It's a very healthy sign, a sign that your energy is opening up so that the kundalini can naturally flow through the body. You can certainly learn about more practices to help open your body more to allow for further evolution. You'll probably find lots of warnings about kundalini from people who've literally gone insane from forcing their kundalini too far too fast before it's ready. It's something that rises naturally as the body allows it to. When it opens completely, you'll feel this incredibly sublime and blissful energy moving up the spine. It's way more incredible than any orgasm the body can experience. It's typically induced through intense surrender. There's plenty of reading, meditations, and yogic practices you can explore to learn more about it. |

Something similar happened to me but I can't explain it. My diet was suddenly changed, I eat more raw veges/fruits and completely stopped eating red meat. Fish and a bit of poultry at best. Drinking a lot of water daily and more interested in eating well/healthily. I have not been sleeping well lately, because i would automatically wake up the moment sunlight hits me, around 7 am. I have not been able to get a good REM sleep and I always felt like something's bursting out of my chest, some sort of 'stress/energy' but I still have enough energy to last the whole day. Not left side of the chest from the heart, but right in the middle of my chest. And I have gained a huge amount of empathy for people. Also not interested in 'fighting' like i used to and now questioning more about mankind's behaviour. |

I practiced many of these meditations alone, and I received certain phenomena from them, which as far as I know, no one else has. One aspect which has retained its consistency is shivering and shuddering. When a certain event happens, if I feel negative energy from it, I am cold and begin to shiver, despite the actual room temperature. On other times, if I hear or find or realize something of profound significance, I will shudder in pleasure, exactly the opposite of feeling negative energy. Remember the old horror series "Goosebumps"? That's what I get, but fine-tuned to the nature of the event. Even deeper however, is how it relates to my dream state. I have had what I'm about to explain happen twice to me only. My first dream was the realization of another incarnation, and when the messenger told me this unconscious truth, my entire body vibrated in complete absolute pleasure. It was so profoundly intense that I was neither asleep nor awake after it. The second dream, was of sexual nature, and relates closer to the chakras. I was having sex with a women, and I hit a peak of awareness, lucid to some extent. I stopped going lucid completely, because the dreams have their own significance, and complete lucidness would alter the message. Now I just have extremely vivid dreams, but not consistently. As I was having sex with this women, I hit this lucid-like awareness, and notice the point of my orgasm at the base chakra. The pleasure was phenomenal, however indescribable. Then I consciously moved this orgasm upwards, towards the 2nd chakra. The pleasure was profoundly different, but equally intense, just different, and full bodied. Then I did this again, and once more up to the heart chakra. Each movement was dramatically different, blissful and ecstatic. I think I recall hearing a Jesus quote about "divine unity". That's what I felt. You mentioned it as shivering violently. I agree, it was seizure-like, but the violence of pure ecstasy. Last edited by ilrein; 03-02-2009 at 06:02 PM. |
