These rules were created by Dr. Thurman Fleet, an incredible man and teacher who founded the Concept-Therapy course of instruction. Dr. Thurman Fleet, founder of Concept-Therapy These rules were created by Dr. Thurman Fleet, an incredible man and teacher who founded the Concept-Therapy course of instruction. 1. Find No Fault 2. Look for the good, and Go About Doing Good 3. Never Criticize Nor Condemn 4. Enslave No One 5. Speak Not of Yourself 6. Be Truthful 7. Have Compassion 8. Eliminate the Negative 9. Meditate 10. Work Here is what Dr. Fleet had to say regarding his ten rules. “When shall now give you Ten Laws, Ten Rules, that you may try out in your own way. As you begin to bring your expression in harmony with these Rules, you will be inclined towards the Good of Life which, magnified to Infinity, is what we call the Being named God. In other words, you are striving to gain the God that is within you”. 1. Find No Fault This is pretty straight-forward, “Find No Fault”. Are you finding fault with the way God is running the world? Are you finding fault with the people, places, and things in your life? If you said “yes” to either of those questions, then you are violating this rule. Dr. Fleet would recommend an exercise in which a person would try to find no fault with anything for two weeks! Most people can’t even do it for a day! Try it for yourself. Here is the exercise taken from the book Cosmic Principles: “Each morning when you arise, say to yourself: “Today I will find no fault with any person, place, or thing. If God has control of the whole universe, then I will adapt myself to His way of running it. No matter who comes around, or what happens, I will not find fault. I will try to obey this one law”. As you find no fault, you will fault that peace will come unto you. You will be less enslaved and apt to react to the negative in life and will be more in tune to the good. 2. Look for the good, and Go About Doing Good Do you choose the good in life? Do you wake up each day looking forward to the day ahead? When things that appear to be bad happen, do you bemoan your fate or do you look for the good in the situation? As Napoleon Hill use to say “Every negative event has within it the seed of an equal or greater benefit”. As you focus on the good, you will often find it and will also be in a vibration to attract more of it into your life. 3. Never Criticize Nor Condemn This does not mean constructive criticism. If you’re a school teacher or a person in authority, there might come a time when you have to have to give criticism to one of your students or someone you are in charge of. This rule has to do with destructive criticism, finding the faults in others and the way the universe is being run. As Dr. Fleet says, “The “X” Power controls and directs the whole universe and everything in it. All of these things that you have been criticizing, or condemning, concern some thing or incident which the Divine Power has caused to happen in order that some seeking Soul, traveling along Life’s highway may gain a lesson therefrom”. 4. Enslave No One Just as you would not throw physical chains around someone, you should not mentally enslave someone through your actions. For instance, if you are a newly married man, and make a mess every day thinking “It’s my wife’s job to clean this up”, I would think you would be in violation of this law. Clean up your own mess and give everyone the freedom they deserve. 5. Speak Not of Yourself As Emerson says “Get your bloated nothingness out of the way and let the Divine Spark within you express itself”. I have a cousin who constantly violates this law. He always goes around telling people how important he and his work are. What’s the end result? No one wants to be around him. Allow others to speak and have a part in the conversation. You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. 6. Be Truthful This rule deals with a few things. One, it has to do with being true to yourself. If you call yourself a Buddhist, or a Catholic, or a Christian, then strive to live up to the ideals of those religions. Don’t say “I’m Christian” and then berate the next person who does something wrong to you. Two, it doesn’t mean you go and tell the truth when you know it can cause harm to someone. For instance, if a little kid asks you about Santa Claus, you wouldn’t tell the kid that Santa Claus isn’t real. This could cause much harm to the child. Or, if you know someone is having an affair with their spouse, you might not go and tell the spouse and cause a huge scene. It takes some discretion to know when to be truthful and when not to. Three, be truthful with yourself. Try to see yourself as you really are. If you have some faults, that’s okay. Acknowledge that they are there and get to work on them. We’re all human and are here to grow and improve. 7. Have Compassion I’m just going to quote Dr. Fleet here: “Have compassion for Life, regardless of what form it is in. Life is very intelligent, whether it is in a plant, an animal, or a human being. It will know, and it will help you in the return. That is the teaching of the Christ. He said, “Inasmuch as you have done it for the least of my creatures, you have done it unto me.” If you can help Life rather than harm it, then Life will assist you. But Jesus said, “Be not deceived; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Gal. 6:7). If you sow good things into Life, it will return a crop of good things to you. If you sow evil into Life, if you harm Life unnecessarily and willfully, it will hurt you. One who becomes aware of this truth will naturally have compassion for Life. By helping Life, he helps himself to evolve in consciousness”, 8. Eliminate the Negative I actually did a writing on this before. By “negative” Dr. Fleet means: “We use the word negative to mean that the individual selects things, think thoughts, or performs acts that are bad for his life, and bad for all of those who live around him. It is the evil principle of living a life. Vice versa, the word positive means that the things that a person selects for his body are good for his body. The thoughts which he thinks are good thoughts. They are conducive to helping life in the person himself, or in some other form. Also, the acts that he indulges in are acts that lift his life upward, or they lift the life of others upward. In other words, positive means “good for life”.” So accentuate the positive! Choose foods and things that are good for your body. Eat healthy, get massages, and go outside! Choose thoughts that are good for your mind. Think loving thoughts, happy thoughts, be grateful for what you have! And finally choose acts that are good for your soul. Do good things for others and yourself. Hug someone, say “Thank you” or “I love you” when you can. 9. Meditate By meditate I don’t mean to just sit there cross-legged and breathe. The word meditate means “to think, to reflect, to contemplate, to consider, to plan, and then to observe intently that which you have been thinking about, contemplating, considering, and planning”. Meditate on these ten rules. See which ones you are living, see which ones you are breaking. You can also meditate on other ideas such as love, peace, prosperity, and happiness. You can meditate on the “I AM” consciousness and try to see the real of life. Center your thoughts on these ideas and watch them manifest in your life. 10. Work Do you enjoy what you do? Do you do work you love? Do you do a good job at your work? Strive to see yourself as an agent of the Divine and do your work to the best of your ability. As Dr. Fleet says in his book Rays of the Dawn, it doesn’t matter if you are a butcher or a lawyer, all that matters is whether you are a good butcher or a good lawyer. There is a saying “As above, so below”. Just as on the 3rd dimensional plane, if you are doing a good job, your employer will promote you, the same principle goes for the 4th dimensional plane of life. See yourself as an agent of the Divine. Do you work to the best of your ability? As you do, the Divine will notice your actions and lift you up higher in the scale.
