I like that one too (though it's somewhat scary and makes me think of death).

You should join. (let me know if you do though cause I have to activate your account, before there were too many spammers)
Yeah, it is somewhat scary and makes me think of death too...like...for example...COUGARS. That's why I think this is an inherently spiritual issue.

It's one thing to sit on your velvet cushion and OM, and it's another to pluck up the courage to walk by yourself after you heard a lion caterwauling in your back yard. At least for me.

Lions have always been very symbolic to me, and now I get to/have to think of them whenever I walk out the door or let the dog or cat out. It's come down to where the rubber meets the road.

I bought David Wolfe's book several years ago, but I've never tried to go raw. Are you completely raw, Narz? I might just join your forum. That may be the next thing for me, I'm not sure right now. Thanks for the invitation!

Default Findhorn!

Janlee, I'm in the process of reading your links--thanks ever so much for reminding me of Findhorn! Sounds like we're on the same wave length.

I read the Findhorn garden book many years ago, and I think that's when I started thinking in a protopanpsychism way.

There was also a man in Australia, I think, who communicated with stuck fence latches and such, as you did with your slugs.

I still have fear and resistance to clear before I can be as in tune with the cosmos as I wish to be. (See my "drat" remarks above.) But I think these issues come up at just the right time, so I should "bow" to the caterwauling cougar, don't you think?

I'd rather just say drat for a while, but I'll get over it....

Here's one of my favorite pictures--I have it up in my room:

Midsummer Eve, Edward Robert Hughes, R.W.S.

I appreciate your input.

if so you'll have a field-day here: ARC International - The Art Renewal Center
Hmm, I am all for the LOA, and believe the mind is much more powerful than we believe. ....on the other hand, I don't know what you can say consciously or subconsciously will change a hungry cougar's perception of you as a la carte.

Default As a matter of fact, I do...

...like the Pre-Raphaelites, that is.

I especially like the ones based on Tennyson's The Lady of Shallot:

I absolutely love this one also:

Thanks for the link--I shall revel, I'm sure.

I know! That's precisely why I find this issue so compelling!

Is the Law of Attraction only good for attracting soulmates and Subarus, or can we alchemically change the world with it?

Janlee has some thoughts on that, I'm sure.

Red face We are capable of anything!!!

Hi Megan

this is a very interesting thread...

I think we r on the same wavelength..

Maybe the mass consciousness has to change before we can get to hugging the lions and cougars... (and they stop seeing us as lunch)..

There are lots of meat eaters on the planet... and our bodies are made of meat as well. I am a veggie by the way. Tried veganism, but am getting older and need to have fish oil (my cholesterol a bit high) .. I do eat chocolate and cheese (veggie rennet) but use soya milk. I've been veggie for 20 years now. Mayb if we all become veggies the animals wont want to eat us!! who knows?

I think our minds are very capable and like the guy said in Karate Kid, Nothing is impossible... we just have to try...

In the 90's i was meditating and had this vision of the planet in 600 years time - the land was covered in trees again... I don't know if this was a future life for me or not, feel it could be.. saw a woman living in a kind of hut and there was a lion with her and she was communicating with it by psychic/telepathic means... it was SO beautiful..

Am thinking what I'd do in ur situation, I'd probably be v alert and watchful... and careful...

love and light
janlee

PS LOVE pre raphelite pix too... Used to have them in my bedroom in the '70s and actually use the fairy one as an avatar on another site!!!!

I'm mostly raw. You don't have to be fully raw to join (there are a few jokers there who surfed in from another forum I post at who aren't even really interested).

You're welc.

Yes, I think so. And your vision/dream is beautiful. Some of us have to cut that path if it's to happen. I have this phobia that I will have to have an encounter with a cougar in order to break through this...and I don't want to!

I don't know if it's karmic or what, but I've had nightmares about big cats since I was a kid, and since I've developed this phobia about real live cougars (last October) my imagination has several times vividly gone to defending myself savagely with a knife. I'm not liking this...just want it all to go away.

But I think the cougars are symbolic for a whole category of "dangerous, uncontrollable things" that I don't want to deal with--like my son being a Black Hawk crew chief. IOW, my own psychology is undoubtedly a part of what I'm dealing with, along with the undoubtedly real outer situation.

So, while I do need to be watchful outdoors, as you said, I also need to be processing this at a deep level, and not let the phobia take over and distract me from the deeper issues, both personal and collective.

In Washington State last summer, I bought a little used book that came all the way from England--it was priced in Pounds--called A Pilgrimage with the Animals, which was based on channelled writing purported to come from a discarnate "Dr. Lascelles," who says:

Quote:
The potentialities are all there awaiting the grand awakening. The great sculpting hand of time must now embrace the animals, the mind of man must bless them and the presence of God must further endow them.

This I know--the power of love can transform all forms of life. When man himself begins to understand and practice this, applying it both to himself and to the animals, then indeed will the lion lie down with the lamb and we shall enter the Golden Age.

In the meantime we can pray as follows:

'O, God, we ask Thee that all Thy myriad upon myriad of forms which appear to us a animals, birds, fishes and reptiles may be protected and that we may be led to an understanding of Thy everywhere-ness. Forgive us for the ignorance of the past and elevate us to a realisation that all creatures of this earth are entrusted into our care that we might learn compassion from our loving relationship with them, and, in learning, apply it to ourselves.'

And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
and a little child shall lead them.
--Isaiah 11

L&L,
Megan

Funny, Megan. I live in a neighborhood that's crawling with celebrities, and they tend to skulk around like nervous cougars. I usually treat them as if they were dangerous wild animals: acknowledging them, but steering a little clear, to show that I am not threatening to invade their territory. Once I made the mistake of treating one I met in the wild as if she were a human (I gave a certain actress a big open smile as we passed on the street), with terrible results: there was a flashing show of claws. I think it was just a horrible fear on her part, but I can't be sure.

What's my point? I don't know.

Well, that's interesting. You must be, like, rich, Angela! Cool!

Celebrities get stalked and all manner of disrespectful things. Sometimes they flash claws, sometimes they crack and shave their heads. I'm glad I'm not one. I'd probably be bald too.

Maybe the cougars and celebrities are mean because we're mean.

Just a thought.

Stalked! That's exactly it. Maybe celebrities and cougars have come to expect stalking behaviour, so they've been trained to behave as though friendly attempts at connection all belie ulterior motives. It's hard to imagine a cougar shaving its head in order to get MORE attention, though.

As for being rich, I am very wealthy in spirit, anyway!

Default Hmmm...

...maybe there's a connection?

This is from the EFT free newsletter:

Quote:
By Andi Whitaker

Dear Gary,

The other day I had an interesting experience with a wasp and EFT.

When I was 13 I used to kill lots of wasps with rolled up newspapers, then I thought this was unfair and killed them by flicking them with my fingernail against the window pane.

At 17, I thought, why am I doing this, and made a solemn pact with the wasps. I apologized to the Great Wasp Spirit and promised never to kill a wasp and in return they would not sting me.

For 7 years I honored the pact, then at 24, I unthinkingly killed a wasp. As I watched the wasp die I knew this was a terrible and serious thing and walked out into the garden feeling really bad. I sat down on a wicker chair and felt a red hot pain in my left shoulder blade, as if someone had stubbed a cigarette into my shoulder; I twisted round and saw a wasp flying away.

At 47, I found an exhausted wasp on the carpet, helped it onto my palm, took it outside and it rested on my palm until it recovered and flew away.

Last week while staying at a friend's house, my wife and I were doing EFT over the phone with her Mum in Japan, when I noticed an agitated wasp trying to escape into the garden. The window was locked and as I wanted to help her, I did some EFT for having the wasp come onto my finger.

Even though:

I am afraid of being stung...

I feel nervous...

I made the pact and they will not sting me...

I can command the wasp to sit on my finger...

Just 4 rounds. The wasp was still very agitated. I placed my finger against the pane and near the wasp. She calmed down and I commanded her to step onto my finger. She walked across, sensed me and stepped onto my finger. I felt a bit nervous, so she stepped off. 3 more rounds of EFT.

Even though:

I am afraid of being stung...

I am calm...

I can command the wasp...

Feeling calm and still, I placed my finger near the wasp and in a soft, firm voice said "Come on little one, step onto my finger, I am going to let you out."

The wasp unhesitatingly climbed onto my finger and I told her to stay there while we walked to the door. We tried to open it for a minute or so, with much rattling and pulling of bolts. Me with one hand and the wasp continuing to stay quietly and calmly on my finger; fortunately a friend of mine turned up and he stared curiously at the wasp. I explained she was my friend and he opened the door. I raised my arm and a few moments later she flew away.

We were all amazed and for me it was a wonderful experience to use EFT for fear and also to be trusted by the wasp.

I believe that EFT allows us to return to a very open, spontaneous and natural state of being and the Universe then responds in all sorts of surprising ways.

EFT's Peace Potential: Establishing rapport and trust with a wasp
