I'm just wondering if anyone had any tips on NOT BEING A TOOL! I tend to be a robot and at school, and am use to this and not very good at having opinions of my own about things, about people, about my experiences. I tend to just go through the motions...

In a way, that could be a good thing, to an extent. Maybe you realize that a lot of "opinions" are meaningless, and you accept life for what it is. Many people take a stand and defend it just to seem smart or to be "right". On the other hand, if you feel that a lack of passion is leaving a void inside you, you'll need to find whatever that passion is by trying a lot of different stuff. Also, as you age and gain experience, you'll have more information upon which to base your opinions. Meanwhile, don't let an image of what you think you should be like rule you. |

The ego hates it when you don't allow it to grow into the pain body/little monster it finds definition in. There is much value and power in non reactive observation but don't feel you are less, because now you are actually more. Your ego is your tool for validating the experience, when we let it immerse itself in the moment it creates all sorts of problems, but when it's simply the point of observation, with reacting, then the entire universe supports you. You're in a great place, just accept it and enjoy it. It's what your truly are. Judge | |

| I'm kind of like that too. It makes conversation difficult. I often used to say, "I have no opinions." Usually I either didn't have enough information to form an opinion, or I had so much information that I couldn't make a decision. And if I do have an opinion, I usually am not good at conveying it because I tend to only state my conclusion without explaining the thought process.

| I agree, when I think of someone as being a tool it's usually because they are just the opposite, very opinionated and not willing to listen to or "hear" others. You sound charming, people like you usually give off an aura of mystery and intelligence. Also, as someone above said, try not to let this negative view of one aspect of your personality shape your identity. There will be people who appreciate your ways.

You are sounded like I was (about ten years ago). I had trouble forming opinions and lack of understanding in what I read. I decided to change for a better. I decided to do some work out: jogging, working at the gym to build my self confidence. After exercising, I practiced meditation. Meditation help me to understand better about what I read. I understand more about what I work with on the job. I am opinionated about the job at hands with my boss or with the engineer about work process or productions. And a big plus for me is, the general manager just recognized that I am the asset to the company while others are losing their jobs in this economy. It also come admiration and respect from coworkers. working out to build yourself up, it will help you become confidence and attractive. It is the object of desire from the opposite sex. meditate to develop your mind, it will help you understand more about what read and learn. When you understand more about things, you can form a better opinion, form a winning argument. when good result come out from your opinion, you become a respected individual. You will enjoy being what you are. Enjoy the noble journey... Best Regards, Johnny |
