I heard about Burt Goldman -- The American Monk website over on the Learning Strategies forum. Does anyone here have any experience with his material? I downloaded his free lessons and just got started with them. He does the voice for his guided imagery himself and includes a great quiet techno-eastern soundtrack. I'm actually surprised by how easy it is to listen to him. I'm looking forward to exploring more. The American Monk - Zen for The Western Soul . |

Funny you mentioned Learning Strategies - the Monk's Daisy meditation sounds very, very similar to what Paul Scheele (at Learning Strategies) does! Of course, the voice and music and, most likely, wording are all different - but the overall structure is the same: walking down the stairs, opening the door, entering a quiet area, etc. The same hypnotic relaxation device. The URL in the post I'm responding to suggests that the poster would be given point(s) for each visitor who've clicked on the link... Which is what this monk is aiming to do. By the way, in order to get your "free lessons" you have to dob in many of your "contacts" (for most of us, that means: friends)... Did someone offer a "free burger voucher for 10 friends" before? But wait, there's more! Looks like part of the monk's sales letter is identical to a part of Silva's sales letter !!! Check out these links (and look for words "Each Module comes with Lecture Tracks and Meditation Training Tracks" ) Monk: The American Monk - Zen for The Western Soul Silva: Silva Intuition Program For all I know... this is a big marketer first and foremost. The American Monk worked for the Silva company for a long time before setting up on his own. I LOVE his Daisy Pond meditation, it's my absolute favourite meditation ever. I always feel so good afterwards. And I love his voice. It's so deep like Johnny Cash. I got it as a special bonus when I bought the Silva Method course. (they don't normally offer it as a bonus, it was a special offer.) It can get confusing as there is a plethora of silva courses out there. I'm not so keen on the Ultramind version - the one I have I think is called Silva Life System and that is really good. |
