I've decided that it's time for me to leave this site for the time being. I haven't found too much value in Steve's more recent material. In fact, the only thing that's been keeping me here is the forums, and the quality of the forum contributions have gone down lately too. So I'm hoping that you all can help me find a new space to participate in discussions of a spiritual and personal growth nature. Are there other sites you check regularly? Other forums you actively post in? Thanks for any direction. And thank you to those who've helped me understand more about my role in the world (Steve included). |

I've noticed that too, the forums have started to get a bit samesy as the rest of the net. Too many people with easily solvable problems if they just read around a bit. Where's the passion for genuine awesomeness? Where is the drive for people to want fantastic lives, rather than so-so? Where are the people who want to shake their lives up and really change things around? Where are those that want to challenge themselves to the utmost, instead of being safe? I know they are still here, but perhaps they are finally outnumbered. :P As for Steve: I think the value you get out of his writing is dependant apon what you are looking for. I've found his more recent work more valuable as he continues to challenge those areas which regular folk won't. Polyamory? Brilliant! :P But your growth is up to you, so go out there and grow, learn, experience and set the world on fire! |

Anyhow, if you find something you like, let me/us know and we'll go over and spoil that one too (just kidding). And I'd love to have email penpals to kanoodle with ("Reply All" = instant forum!). I invite any and all to bug me at etherspace.1950@y*hoo.com . Go ahead and spam it - it's seldom used right now anyhow. I'm a pretty old man (.1950, geddit?) but I really have the mind of a 7-year- old and I've heard it all, so don't be shy.

@Steve: I posted the question in the spirituality forum because it's the one I visit the most, and I would be looking to connect with people who are into ACIM, Tolle, philosophy, etc. -and thank you for what you've created here. I cannot even begin to repay you for the value you've added to my life. I can just promise that the ideas you've so freely shared with me will be passed on to the people I meet. @Angela: I learned from you that the best response to a tough situation is to ask a question, and I never can guess just what you'll ask. Thank you for keeping things interesting. I've seen a huge shift in your posts over the last year and a half (more specifically within the last 6-8 months) and I think you're heading in a pretty awesome direction, for what it's worth. @fellowtraveler: you're so right, I get more of what I put out, and I know I don't contribute a ton to the forums... I like to think of myself as more of the strong/silent type. I usually have an opinion about everything, but am rarely pushed so far as to share it. It's funny that the people whose posts I've enjoyed the most are the people who responded to my question... maybe I'm starting to understand that whole synchronicity thing. Thanks again to everyone for their responses. |

Good luck, I've looked around and never found any forums with similar quality of discussions as here at SP! There are times I've felt that perhaps it's time to look around for a more "Advanced" IM forum as with each new influx of users we tend to see similar questions coming up again and again so it feels like I'm just cycling through the same info over and over and not getting beyond the basics, but what I've found is there are no more "Advanced" IM forums out there. Plus, I've also discovered that by sticking around and sharing my understanding of the basics, I continue to refine my own beliefs & understandings. Happy Forum Hunting - Wishing you all the best!!
