Default Jane Roberts?

Many of the subjects in this section and the whole I-M thing seem very similar to the works of Jane Roberts.

I read a bunch of her books back when I was a teenager.

Are people here into her? Is the concept of I-M inspired by her writings?

For those who don't know Jane Robert's was a medium who channeled an entity called "Seth" who dictated a body of material very similar to I-M to her:

She published a ton of books, and it has been decades since I read them, but I think you can get most of what she/her message/Seth were about in the book
"Seth Speaks". It is ancient so try your library system first.

What she had to say is almost exactly like everything said abotu I-M, beliefs, subjective reality etc on this board

It's funny that this topic is posted.

Two days ago, I was listening to Jerry and Esther Hicks' "Introduction to Abraham" and they were telling their story about Jane Roberts and "Seth Speaks", which led to their discovery of Abraham.

Interesting...

SETH SPEAKS was a book on in my first wife's library that I one day pulled from the shelf and opened. Before that the only metaphysical book I had read was JONATHAN LIVINGSTON SEAGULL, which is more of a parable than philosophy, so it was quite enlightening to discover more of this through Roberts' writings. I went on to read other Seth books, my favorite of which was "Dreams and Projections of Consciousness," which I found much more comprehensive in laying out metaphysical theory in "layman's terms."

From there, I got into Robert Monroe's JOURNEYS books, and even discovered a great "channeled" entity named "Dr. Peebles" whose wisdom I could soak up live and in person on a monthly basis. An author couple who also attended regularly wrote a book about him and his channel, Thomas Jacobson, called TO DANCE WITH ANGELS, which I highly recommend.

Deepak Chopra has a great new book out I've been reading, too.

I have been a student of metaphysics for going on 20 years now, and for the first time, I am beginning to sense that these concepts of a subjectiver versus objective reality are really catching on in the world. People are looking around and seeing the coming conflict between the two major religious fables on this planet (Christianity and Islam) and are frantically seeking an alternative belief system that caters to a more evolved human race. Clearly mankind is approaching the age where we can release our "need" for a parental God and begin to accept the responsibility of being One with God.

Jane's stuff is FAR more accurate than I-M or LoA. Read slowly, the devil is in the details.
I recommend Seth Speaks, The Nature of Personal Reality, The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events.

I had never heard of Seth or Jane Roberts....but I googled her and found this the most interesting thing I read.

Seth Quotes Chap.02

And I actually believed it.....and it even went along with my religious beliefs

Yes, thank you. I wish to correct my earlier recommendation.

THE NATURE OF PERSONAL REALITY is the Seth book I most liked, not the one about "Projections of Consciousness." But they are all worthy reads still.

Hi. I am new here. So, hello.

I have read all of Jane Roberts' Seth books, and they are facinating. I have read many works also atributed to channeld entities of one stripe or other, however, I have found none as convincing or informative as Seth.

These books were all re-issued in the mid 1990s by Jane's husband Robert Butts. They are usualy found at Barnes and Noble, Borders, metaphysical book imporiums and at Amazon and the like.

I also recomend "The Nature of Personal Reality" as a jumping off point.
