Nice story. Very intelligent and makes a very good point. I left a long comment so now you have more original content on your website. People like stories. But did you post the best one first? Will the coming ones be as good?

Have you heard this one? The king is walking around seeing his kingdom. (I put this on this site so you can put it on yours). He comes across a fortune teller and gets his fortune read. The fortune teller says that unfortunately the king will die in a few months. The king is depressed and consults his wise man. The wise man asks the fortune teller how long he will live.

The fortune teller says that he will live a very long life. The wise man takes a sword from a soldier and stabs the fortune teller, killing him. Then he tells the king that obviously the guy does not know what he is talking about.

LOL I haven't heard that story... I'll have to add it to my main site The most spiritual stories and parables on the internet anywhere!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting - I really enjoyed your comment, and it got me thinking more as well.

As for more stories - I've had this blog in "waiting" for months... but I haven't had the inspiration to write. Today while commenting on a story on another blog I thought, "WAIT. My blog's been waiting for this kind of content..."

So I didn't choose the best story, but rather the first story that brought inspiration. I have a few other stories that I've taken note of that I really want to write about.

I also plan to have some fun with this - such as re-discussing a story after a year or two and seeing how my reflection and insight on the story changes. Sort of similar to when we read a book multiple times throughout our life and learn something new... except on a much smaller level.

Nice post for a first entry. I am not sure but I think I read the story through my mail.

Anyway, I left a comment on your post. Just a reminder, it is good to exercise our belief, but be ready to fight for it.

Faith is something we must study first before we believe.

Thanks for the comment!

I forgot who said it first, but something along the lines of beliefs being very hard to change, but ideas are much more easily changeable. So he likes to have ideas instead of beliefs.

On that note, when it comes to writing on my blog I have no beliefs to defend / nothing to fight for. All I have are perspectives, insights, reflections... words to inspire discussion and personal growth.

And if in that discussion I learn something new which happens to completely contradict something I said previously, then that is a blessing for which I am thankful... as it takes me one step closer to living authentically.

I could probably write a blog post about the same story a week from now and have it be on a completely different insight. Not sure how many times I could repeat that process, though

You're welcome. I think that's a good idea. Guess what? Before I publish my posts, I view them and read them again and again. Then, I try to feel what my readers would feel and asked these questions.

Did I guide my readers, or force him on what I believe in?
Did I made my self clear in explaining what I really want to say?
Did I inspire him one way or the other?
Did I use words that anybody can easy understand?

I guess there are a lot more questions to ask, but if your answers to the above questions made you comfortable, then it's time to hit it.

By the way, thanks also for checking out my blog and for sharing yuor thoughts there.

That's a great set of questions! I'll try to keep them in mind when I post. I think it's really something that all bloggers could learn from regardless of their niche.
