It's interesting to see Oprah moving into more alternative ideas. She's doing shows about past regression/after life. It's sounds like she would be interested to have people that are into astral projection on her show (although she called it something else), maybe talking in another dimension? I reckon steve will be on Oprah in the future, especially with her new shift in spirituality. |

I know, isn't it great?! Oprah is pretty dialed in - as the world at large grows more and more receptive to new/alternative thought, she adds more and more progressive features on her show. Oprah interviewed Esther Hicks (The teachings of Abraham) some time ago on her XM radio show. She was completely fascinated, but admitted to Esther that right now (at the time at least) it would be too controversial to bring her on the show. However, that was about a year or so ago. I wouldn't be surprised if she has Abraham on any time now! |

I knew Oprah had gone alternative when she recommended A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. I'd read the Power of Now and Practicing the Power of Now, so I knew what kind of book she was recommending. I'm sure we'll see Steve and Erin on there soon. It's good that someone is going there in the mainstream talk show circuit.

Oprah is 100% new age, sold out to the Devil. All of her riches and earthly possesions are only temporary, but are her blessings from being such a good servant to the devil. God has nothing to do with her... If only you guys knew who Oprah really was.. hehehe feel free to blast me, hehehe

Jorge - sounds like you've been watching too much Mad TV Oprah's shift into Sprituality isn't new. Oprah featured "Remembering Your Spirit" in the mid to late 1990's and had regular visits from authors like Marriane Williamson, Gary Zukav and other more spiritually minded people. I really enjoyed her show during those years, but she shifted back to less spiritual topics. I was glad to see her hosting more alternative ideas when she did the shows on The Secret, and also the series with Echart Tolle. I missed the interview with Esther Hicks - I can imagine it was most interesting. I don't watch her very much, but I do sometimes turn it on when she has Dr. Oz on. He's really interested in teaching people about our bodies and health. I have to admit, I sometimes close my eyes when he brings out the cadaver examples of organs. |

It's funny to hear someone call these ideas "alternative" when for me and Erin they're just part of our daily lives. We discuss our psychic/intuitive experiences pretty much every day. To deny their existence would be like plugging our ears with cotton. On Friday night, Erin and I had dinner with Lisa Williams (psychic medium with her own TV show), John Holland (psychic medium), Colette Baron-Reid (psychic/intuitive), Brian Weiss (he did the past life stuff on Oprah), and several other authors. When the bill arrived, John opened it and looked surprised and started laughing. The bill was $666 and change. I couldn't resist teasing him that clearly this happened because he was doing the work of the devil. Erin and I have gotten to know many of these people behind the scenes. They're all very warm and caring people... sans devil worship. |

| Since I became aware that I was not aware and started practicing awareness in nearly every moment, things have started to magically fall into my lap. I've let go of my attachment to outcome and I'm becoming a magnet for many of the things I've always wanted. So, I think Oprah is wonderful and a truly positive influence on the people of this earth. I don't credit her for my transformation, but being a credible media personality, she did play a small part.

| Why do I feel that I am endowed with the right to judge others? Is that what I am doing? In asking me am I one who selflessly helps others are you asking me that question or stating that that is what Oprah does? Because if you are stating that Oprah is a celebrity who selflessly helps others then I find that amusing and very telling. I saw her selflessly give everyone in her audience a car once, commercially that was a very good move for her and the car company involved, but just imagine how many people that the money for those cars could have fed and clothed, in a world plagued by poverty and sickness I find that sort of decadence sickening.

Although I'm sure she means well, I think she sends mixed messages. One generous and one self-deserving, and it's a fine line between them.

The sad thing is – is that anyone could take anything (or anyone) seriously that appears on television (apart from the news or a documentary maybe). Television is there to sell, to turn us into couch potatoes, whether it is Oprah selling enlightenment or someone selling juicers. We don’t really know who these people are (and does it matter?). At best, it is a bit of therapy that allows us to vent out some of our emotions in a harmless way. Defending Oprah amounts to being on the same level as attacking her, i.e. taking it just a biiiiiiiit too seriously. It's chewing gum for the eyes, nothing else. As Groucho Marx said – I find television very educational. Every time I am in a room and it is switched on, I pick up a book and read. |

So do the Simpsons'. I think it's a bit sad that many people feel the need to create a para-social relationship with a character on a tv screen and jump to their defence at the least hint of criticism (I don't mean you personally). I've seen Oprah a few times on UK cable TV, and I'm pretty neutral about her - just another channel and another mouth gushing forth. I don't really care who she is. Even if she was God reincarnated, I would still switch off. Perhaps, she is a soothing balm for some of the problems of the American masses at this time, and it helps get them through their day, I don't know. However, the rest of the world has never heard of her.
