Soul names?

I recently heard a story from a co-worker about a professional contact who had changed her name to her soul name. She came about this name through a spiritual quest and it was what her spirit guide had been calling her throughout it.

My question is how one might go about finding their soul name? I think it makes sense that we have a name that is probably not the name given to us on this earthly plane, but I am unsure of how to access it. I have asked for it to come to me in a dream (right before I fall asleep, in meditation) but I have not had any definitive answers on it.

Does anyone here have experience with this?

There's a couple of different ways you could go about this. The first is to keep working with yor Guides until they tell you what they call you. I reccomend this way. Probably the most effective way to do this is to go on Hanbleca (vision quest).

The second is to find someone who can connect more clearly with your Guides than you can at the moment. This could be a Psychic, a Medium, a Shaman, Medicine Person, or any other number of senstives. This is fine if you trust this person. If not, don't do it this way.

In most Native American traditions, the giving of a name is a highly sacred rite to be performed only by a strong Medicine Person. One of my best friends and business partner was given his Name in this way. I was there in the Lodge when it was given. It was a very powerful experience. But then, we both have a lot of trust and faith in the Medicine Man who made the Journey to find his Name.

I, on the other hand, have been told directly by my Guides what they call me. I don't need or want anyone else to step in and confirm or confuse what I already know.

In Bisaya the language of the area in the Philippines where I lived until recently Lola is the word for grandmother. Are you grandmother danger?

No, I'm not even mother danger. Where I come from, "Lola" means a hot, curvaceous, gorgeous, mysterious, intelligent, woman you'd want to be careful about partnering up with for a crime.

I did that with my first and middle names, for fun, and I came up with:
Freejan Winnd. Hmmm...doesn't quite resonate with me, lol!

Perhaps...or, I used to go by Fireblossom as a email/screen name. I liked the "fiery" part of it, especially since it related to something positive, the "blossom" of something good.

Well, the other thing I was falling asleep (about 3 weeks ago) and I remember realizing that three of the months of the year end in "Ember" and I thought, "Wow, I really like that word." I would have forgotten about the whole thing, but the next day I was doing a crossword puzzle and one of the answers was, "Ember." And then I remembered the night before and what a strange, out-of-the-way thought it was right before I fell asleep.

So...I decided to use my birth month (December) and use a "J" for my first name instead of the "D" when I did this screen name.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "Ember" is part of it, or close to it. Maybe I'm just grasping at straws.
