Default Subjective Reality

I've been reading Steve's posts on Subjective Reality with interest, but what I wonder is if there is any philosophy behind it, has the subject been dealt with by any of the philosophers in modern history. Does any body touch on it, such as in the areas of existentialism, nihilism, metaphysics.

I'm interested as I want to research the subject and others similar for a possible book I may write one day and I want to do things properly.

Any help or thoughts would be apprieciated.

Thanks Vipa.

The idea of Subjective Reality that Steve Pavlina presents draws similarities with many philosophies. Subjective Reality is an Idealist philosophy(the mind creates or has a part in creating reality).

You might be interested in reading the ideas of George Berkeley, Immanuel Kant and even Descartes with his "I think, therefore I am". Another important philosopher is phenomenologist Edmund Husserl.

As you see, similar ideas were present in philosophy. I think that what makes Steve's philosophy unique is the idea that you create your reality at your will. Your will is the ultimate ruler of reality. You can make whatever you want.

Thumbs up Philosophy for beginners

May I recommend "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaarder as a starting point for exploring some of the ideas of Kant, Berkley and Descartes.

I would venture to say that quite similar to "Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul"

It's solipsism only maybe a little different. Start with solipsism and try to see what Steve is saying as different.
