Busting Loose Book: Some REAL Discomfort

Hey guys,

There was a thread earlier about the book "Busting Loose from the Money Game" by Robert Scheinfeld. I read through the whole thing at Borders and loved it. I was feeling high as a kite and in such love and power.

Then I had a crash. Here are some things that are starting to really get to me.

1) The idea that everyone else are just actors in my hologram. Some of my goals have been to perform live music or right a best selling novel. It takes a lot of my reward out if it's just different aspects of myself reading my book (if any of them are "really" reading it at all if I don't see it)

I feel a loneliness if it's just me that's the universe. I mean sometimes I can feel connected to my higher self, and my alone time is better than it was before, but if I"m out with a friend, and she's talking, it's as if she's not actually real, so the conversation doesn't feel genuine, it's like we're pretending or something.

2) Everything being fake is starting to scare me a little. I was talking to my higher self (which I hope actually wasn't my higher self, but it felt so real), and it revealed to me that I came to the physical universe to hide from my non physical problems (from outside the hologram), and I was putting off problems I was going to have to face later anyway. It makes me feel like my whole existence here was for the wrong reasons. I don't want to believe this, but that's what felt like it was communicated to me.

Has anyone successfully dealt with issues like this? Especially the second one, it's really getting to me and my other new age friends haven't felt it before.

Have you ever read Descartes? I think therefore I am. I would start there if I were you. His statement puts everyone in the same position: you can be sure of your own existence but not of that of anyone else...

As for helping you, all I can really say is that these kind of questions are normal for someone pursuing a spiritual life (I assume you are) and is becoming involved in things like prayer, meditation and such like. But ultimately the experience of insight is exactly that - an experience. It's yours to keep and no-one can take it away from you...but no-one can give it to you either...

You may resolve these questions tomorrow...or it may take a lifetime...the important thing for you to consider right now is whether you consider finding an answer important enough to dedicate hours of your life to.

You may want to ask yourself, why would you want to sing and write? Does it feel good? What benefit do you receive?

Remember that your contribution also benefits you. You're 'doing' is an act of receiving the good in your life. In order to receive that good you must give, contribute and provide to others. And it's through this giving that you will receive a reward or benefit.

Stop believing that you're only giving for others, it's also for YOU.

That's what you're here for,

- to express who you really are and
- to receive the benefit of that expression.

As for that conversation with your higher self, I'd give that another listen.

Your higher self would not want to hide. Hiding comes from fear and your higher self doesn't know fear, it only knows perfection. Your higher self does not want to hide, it wants to do the exact opposite: express itself.

I've just finished the book also, and am also finding it hard/disheartening to consider that no one is really out there with me. I've thought about it a bit, and had a thought: we are all the same being in that we are all part of the same higher being, but all of us here on earth are a different aspect of that being. If we all started out with the full knowledge and power of that one being as babies, our fleshy little heads would probably explode! So it was split up, and as we grow we each seek access to that higher being that we are all a part of. So, all of our holograms are connected, it's all the creation of that one being, so you are me and I am you and we are that other person, etc etc, but each part of the being/each human works within his own hologram.
I hope this makes sense. Anyway, it's just a theory.

It's a little disturbing at first. When you are surrounded by people you love, you will find yourself looking at them differently. Because you realize they are not real, you could ideally disconnect from them at anytime. That moment when it sinks in doesn't feel that great, but here's the idea...

Life is supposed to feel wonderful the majority of the time. Not the handful of hours a day when you aren't at work, but all day, every day. When you look at the people you love, think of how amazing it is that you created something that makes you so happy and start creating that and living that 24/7. The knowledge isn't meant to destroy you, it's meant to empower you to know you should stop creating messes for yourself. People are here to have fun with and create joy with. On every level.
