Hopefully some of this info may be of help.
I've had similiar experiences as the OP. The worst thing I did was tell some friends who immediately invalidated my experiences. I spoke to a Reiki Practitioner whom I knew and trusted, who said "It's a good thing you talked to me, because the average person would call you crazy" He felt I was experiencing Astral Traveling and Prophetic dreams.

Mistakes I made were to focus on the phenomena, but I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do with the information. Usually I found prophetic dreams to happen while undergoing traumatic events in my life, or under great stress, or after too much red wine.
I got deep into divination, tarot, i ching, runes, dowsing, talking to psychics to find answers.

I've always had food sensitivities, allergies and other physical issues. At one point I was working with three doctors (a shrink, a Naturpath, an allergist. If two were in accordance to my gut feelings, it helped to find answers with support. And no, the shrink didn't think I was crazy, just sensitive.

Later, I decided to learn how to meditate, clear, strengthen and heal my own energy rather than seeing a shrink and saw a good Chinese doctor.

I found that "Runes" ruined my life so I got rid of all divining techiques.
In times of great stress while divining I'd read and certainly felt that I was attracting energy that was not good for me because of my weakened energetic state.

Recently, I started meditating at a Buddhist temple, a Monk told me to not get stuck with the phenomena, it's not the goal, observe, let it pass, which made sense.
Another spiritual teacher said the were dreams tangents or getting stuck on the side lines on the path to enlightenment. As well, that my low energy and fatigue had a lot to do with these dreams. That if I sleep 8 hours and have a Prophetic dream, its like I slept 5, taking too much out of me, not to mention the deliberating the dream meanings or what to do with the information.

My goal now is to feel healthy, to feel good, to be happy.
For me, this phenomena, which is known to be a lower vibration of conciousness when enligtenment is the goal, has lead me to a more spiritual path.

Default Some information

Hello,

I see a lot of people have misinformation about what it means to be schizophrenic. I have schizophrenia. I have lived with it most of my adult life.
It is a disease of the brain. And yes people with schizophrenia can read, write and function and return to society, at least some of us can. Medication and cognitive therapy help.

Now back to my purpose of replying which is to give you all some information about what schizophrenia is:
It is about hallucinating voices outside of your head, frequently--ie every day.
It is about cognitive and communication deficits: Difficulty in speaking in a normal way--schizophrenics have what is called 'thought blocking' where the words elude us and also "word salad" where random illogical phrases pop out when we are trying to communicate and make sense.

Schizophrenics also have trouble concentrating and taking care of themselves.

As far as the psychic stuff: I think you can be psychic and normal and psychic and schizophrenic. I think they are two seperate things. I think a lot of people with schizophrenia have more intuitiveness but that does not make or break a diagnosis of schizophrenia.

In my experience, people who have the presence of mind to worry if they are schizophrenic, aren't. Schizophrenics are more likely to worry that the rest of the world is crazy because it doesn't agree with their delusions
exactly because the whole point of physcosis is that you "don't know your in it... your not even able to question it.. that is the difference ,

Default you are NOT schzophrenic

You're not schzophrenic, nor abnormal, nor do you need to see a doctor. A doctor will analyze you through analytical framework that he/she has been taught that has no background or anything that proves what you are going through is real. Anyone could do what you do if they opened themselves up to it, the thing is that most people have been taught that all they see is all that there is. And that's their journey, that's why when you share yours you feel their doubt - because they can only perceive through the framework they've grown up with and that may not have ever included something like you've experienced.

So what DO you do?

You've opened yourself up to the part of you that can sense more than the physical plane that we all see. And it seems you do so in your dreams. A very natural place to do so. Now I didn't read all the replies but I'm sure someone must have mentioned mediation. If it feels right for you, try it, but it might be even more distracting.

So here's how to harness and start to guide your visions to something you'd like instead of scary things that come true and you don't know what to deal with. Also, how to be able to ground yourself so that you can still perceive everyone's emotions around you, but not take them on as your own.

Create a place of peace in your mind, for yourself. Close your eyes and relax and let your mind take you to somewhere peaceful. It can be a place you've been to, or an imaginary beach somewhere. Whatever fits. And simply feel everything around you, the smells, the wind, the sunlight or moonlight...just indulge all of your senses and make it real. From this place connect to that part of you that isn't just your physical body. You can call it anything, God within you, your soul, your conscious, your higher self...I like Full Potential Self because this is the part of you that knows everything. You've already proven that time doesn't exist the way we think it does because you've seen future events happen before they occur. This is you connecting to your Full Potential Self and receiving information about those events.

Now once you've gone to this place of peace and met that part of you that's you, but you in hyperspace, or spirit, or in another dimension...however you'd like to envision it, start communicating with it/you. Keep breathing in the peace you've created, and from here you can create what you'd like. You can imagine this place of peace enveloping you whenever you talk to someone and from here you can know you're grounded and at peace and can just observe their feelings from an interesting point of view, instead of worrying what they're thinking. Because you know what you've seen in real and you don't need their validation. Not everyone's ready to know the things you do, they haven't chosen to yet.

So, from that grounded place of peace, talk to your Full Potential Self, know it's part of you, and simply ask of it what you will. If it's why are you seeing the things you do, ask that. If you want to change what you see, or know what to do with what you see, or want to totally switch it off all together...it's all up to you. But this exercise gives you the connection to the part of you that's bringing you this information and you can change the way it comes, or what comes, or anything you'd like.

The most important thing is that you're not alone, you're not strange, there are many others like you, there's just not as many of us, and since we know what happens when we tell people, after doing that once or twice you realize it's more harmful than helpful...and thankfully you found the internet. So, keep in touch, stay grounded, and start learning how to harness this gift you've got. It's a window into time, read some Stephen Hawkin "The Universe in a Nutshell". They've proven with science that all time is happening simultaneously, you just figured out how to tap into the future, which is just running parallel to us. So, figure out what you want to know of the future, and go from there. It's yours to create. You don't have to let it control you, because it's your ability, just like anything you have to train yourself how to use it and see what you want to get out of it.

Take care, and know you're not alone and you're doing great!

Default Can talking about psychic experiences cause psychosis?

Hello,

I was reading LaceyJane10's post.

Quote:
I have felt different my whole life and out of place with the people I grew up with. (In Redneckville, La) If I tried to talk about what I felt, I was usually told or looked at like I was crazy. So, I would often wonder if I was just crazy... So many times I felt depressed and frustrated because I would have experiences that were undeniablebly REAL but when I would try tell someone because I was so amazed and excited, I could feel their doubt and disbelief.
She took the words out of my mouth. Till I was 20 I kept all these experiences to myself. The problem with me is I am a pessimist. So usually I get these visions or intiutions about bad things.

When I was a kid I knew we were going to end up in an accident 5 minutes before our car got totalled.

The night there was a burglary at home I couldn't sleep. I felt like somebody was in the house that morning.. that night we got robbed.

I was so upset.. I would look at a person and think he was going to die and he would die the next day. I know these are not coincidences and that I am not mentally ill.. Once or twice you can brush it off but after a million coincidneces you know its not a coincidence.

I told my sister about these "experiences" and she didn't believe me. I told her and gave her examples until she stopped teasing me. I was mad that she was "smirking" and just teasing me and my experiences. So I told her things in a way that she would believe me.

Soon after she started believing me, My family's close friend passed away. The day before he passed away my sister thought he was going to die.

And before you know it soon after that incident my sister developed schizoprenia and psychosis!!!!!!!!

I don't know what to do to undo the damage I have caused my family and my sister! You won't even imagine how much agony my family is going through because of her psychosis. Being beaten.. yelled at.. It has been a nightmare.

All because of my big mouth!!!! I should have kept these experiences to myself. After 20 years of silence why did I have to tell her about this.???

I am probably going to die in hell for the torture I have put my family in. She was a great, happy student and now all she does is stay home at the age of 26 torturing my family and cry about the family friend who passed away and all these deaths they show on tv..saying she caused them..

I agree.. even if you have psychic powers or experiences NEVER tell friends or family about them.

I haven't gotten anything by sharing these experiences with my sister. The questions about these "incidents" are still lingering inside me and still spooking me out. I don't know if they are visions or if I am making things happen. But now I have a mentally sick sister in addition to my problems.. CRYING SMILEY!!!

IF anyone has any suggestions on how I undo the mistake/crime I have commited and rescue my sister and family from this distress please let me know.

I have to get my sister to recover! Poor thing! I screwed up her remarkably intelligent overachieving brain and life!!!! CRYING SMILEY.

Thanks for all the medical advice.

I will not be going to a psychotherapist...Ridiculous.
I mean, what do I say, "I have dreams that come true.." Their answer is probably sleeping pills or some other sort of narcotic. I dont put my body on any medication unless it's antibiotics or something absolutely necessary.
You totally asked "Am I Schizophrenic and crazy or Psychic or medium or what!?." and some people said "maybe" to the schizophrenic/mental disorder.
How does that warrant that reaction? You yourself already admitted it could be that? Maybe you were hoping for a unanimous psychic vote?

You do not get sleeping pills for the problems you describe. Sometimes doctors will prescribe the fake kind that make you "drowsy" but the real benzo "no go" pills are only used for short term extreme anxiety or grief. As for narcotics, no, never ever are any narcotics used for mental health issues.

Talking

Hi Lacey,

I don't usually do this and was researching something totally different before I read your post and couldn't help myself to inform you on some information.

Disregard everyone who says you're crazy, scitzo etc.. You may have precognition and sweety and you're not the only one. Psychiatrists will just waste your time and money making you believe something is wrong, then they will try to give you so drug that will have major side effects making you really go crazy. I have experience working with scitzophrenics and that is definitely not what you are. Doctor's don't even know that much about scitzophrenia, or where it comes from. I have many theories on this disease. Many scientists believe that people who are scitzophrenic are releasing too much DMT(Dimethyltryptamine) while they are awake. This is a chemical that is produced while we sleep and causes us to dream. There are many theories, and studies that have been performed, I recommend everyone who said she needs a doctor to GOOGLE it and research. People these days are too lazy to do research or read a book, and just open thier mouths foolishly speaking nonsense. There are good doctors and there are bad ones don't forget. Anyways , the disease is still being studied. I could go on forever about this disease. I never once read about Lacey hallucinating. She simply stated that some of her dreams were coming true from what I was reading. Lacey I want to also let you know that neurologists have no idea how the brain stays conscious or unconscious. There a lot of things we don't know about the brain and you if ask a neurologist, they will tell you.
Based on the book, The ESP ENIGMA: The Scientific Case for Psychic Phenomena , Carl Jung believed in precognition as well. Look up Peter Hukos, (famous psychic with precognitive abilitites). Abarham Lincoln had a dream that someone killed him three days before he died. Sure enough someone killled him. You weren't the only one that has dreams about 9/11 .
Of course, people who never experienced something like this would say you're crazy,"you need to see a doctor". Just laugh it off ,I had many dreams that came true and I live a healthy life without taking any medication. I started doing research on this because I thought it was odd that my dreams were coming true ,"what could it be?" I found this book written by Diane Hennacy Powell that helped a lot and I think it will help you too. This woman is brilliant. I also would suggest you to write all you dreams in a notebook . Goodluck

email me if you have any questions
