Hopefully some of this info may be of help. I've had similiar experiences as the OP. The worst thing I did was tell some friends who immediately invalidated my experiences. I spoke to a Reiki Practitioner whom I knew and trusted, who said "It's a good thing you talked to me, because the average person would call you crazy" He felt I was experiencing Astral Traveling and Prophetic dreams. Mistakes I made were to focus on the phenomena, but I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do with the information. Usually I found prophetic dreams to happen while undergoing traumatic events in my life, or under great stress, or after too much red wine. I got deep into divination, tarot, i ching, runes, dowsing, talking to psychics to find answers. I've always had food sensitivities, allergies and other physical issues. At one point I was working with three doctors (a shrink, a Naturpath, an allergist. If two were in accordance to my gut feelings, it helped to find answers with support. And no, the shrink didn't think I was crazy, just sensitive. Later, I decided to learn how to meditate, clear, strengthen and heal my own energy rather than seeing a shrink and saw a good Chinese doctor. I found that "Runes" ruined my life so I got rid of all divining techiques. In times of great stress while divining I'd read and certainly felt that I was attracting energy that was not good for me because of my weakened energetic state. Recently, I started meditating at a Buddhist temple, a Monk told me to not get stuck with the phenomena, it's not the goal, observe, let it pass, which made sense. Another spiritual teacher said the were dreams tangents or getting stuck on the side lines on the path to enlightenment. As well, that my low energy and fatigue had a lot to do with these dreams. That if I sleep 8 hours and have a Prophetic dream, its like I slept 5, taking too much out of me, not to mention the deliberating the dream meanings or what to do with the information. My goal now is to feel healthy, to feel good, to be happy. For me, this phenomena, which is known to be a lower vibration of conciousness when enligtenment is the goal, has lead me to a more spiritual path. Last edited by stellasky; 08-22-2008 at 03:29 AM. |

Hello, I see a lot of people have misinformation about what it means to be schizophrenic. I have schizophrenia. I have lived with it most of my adult life. It is a disease of the brain. And yes people with schizophrenia can read, write and function and return to society, at least some of us can. Medication and cognitive therapy help. Now back to my purpose of replying which is to give you all some information about what schizophrenia is: It is about hallucinating voices outside of your head, frequently--ie every day. It is about cognitive and communication deficits: Difficulty in speaking in a normal way--schizophrenics have what is called 'thought blocking' where the words elude us and also "word salad" where random illogical phrases pop out when we are trying to communicate and make sense. Schizophrenics also have trouble concentrating and taking care of themselves. As far as the psychic stuff: I think you can be psychic and normal and psychic and schizophrenic. I think they are two seperate things. I think a lot of people with schizophrenia have more intuitiveness but that does not make or break a diagnosis of schizophrenia. You're not schzophrenic, nor abnormal, nor do you need to see a doctor. A doctor will analyze you through analytical framework that he/she has been taught that has no background or anything that proves what you are going through is real. Anyone could do what you do if they opened themselves up to it, the thing is that most people have been taught that all they see is all that there is. And that's their journey, that's why when you share yours you feel their doubt - because they can only perceive through the framework they've grown up with and that may not have ever included something like you've experienced. So what DO you do? You've opened yourself up to the part of you that can sense more than the physical plane that we all see. And it seems you do so in your dreams. A very natural place to do so. Now I didn't read all the replies but I'm sure someone must have mentioned mediation. If it feels right for you, try it, but it might be even more distracting. So here's how to harness and start to guide your visions to something you'd like instead of scary things that come true and you don't know what to deal with. Also, how to be able to ground yourself so that you can still perceive everyone's emotions around you, but not take them on as your own. Create a place of peace in your mind, for yourself. Close your eyes and relax and let your mind take you to somewhere peaceful. It can be a place you've been to, or an imaginary beach somewhere. Whatever fits. And simply feel everything around you, the smells, the wind, the sunlight or moonlight...just indulge all of your senses and make it real. From this place connect to that part of you that isn't just your physical body. You can call it anything, God within you, your soul, your conscious, your higher self...I like Full Potential Self because this is the part of you that knows everything. You've already proven that time doesn't exist the way we think it does because you've seen future events happen before they occur. This is you connecting to your Full Potential Self and receiving information about those events. Now once you've gone to this place of peace and met that part of you that's you, but you in hyperspace, or spirit, or in another dimension...however you'd like to envision it, start communicating with it/you. Keep breathing in the peace you've created, and from here you can create what you'd like. You can imagine this place of peace enveloping you whenever you talk to someone and from here you can know you're grounded and at peace and can just observe their feelings from an interesting point of view, instead of worrying what they're thinking. Because you know what you've seen in real and you don't need their validation. Not everyone's ready to know the things you do, they haven't chosen to yet. So, from that grounded place of peace, talk to your Full Potential Self, know it's part of you, and simply ask of it what you will. If it's why are you seeing the things you do, ask that. If you want to change what you see, or know what to do with what you see, or want to totally switch it off all together...it's all up to you. But this exercise gives you the connection to the part of you that's bringing you this information and you can change the way it comes, or what comes, or anything you'd like. The most important thing is that you're not alone, you're not strange, there are many others like you, there's just not as many of us, and since we know what happens when we tell people, after doing that once or twice you realize it's more harmful than helpful...and thankfully you found the internet. So, keep in touch, stay grounded, and start learning how to harness this gift you've got. It's a window into time, read some Stephen Hawkin "The Universe in a Nutshell". They've proven with science that all time is happening simultaneously, you just figured out how to tap into the future, which is just running parallel to us. So, figure out what you want to know of the future, and go from there. It's yours to create. You don't have to let it control you, because it's your ability, just like anything you have to train yourself how to use it and see what you want to get out of it. Take care, and know you're not alone and you're doing great! -Allyson Last edited by allyson; 03-12-2009 at 02:04 PM. |
