After reading Autobiography of a Yogi...Paramhansa Yogananda mentions that Sri Yukeswar is All knowing .such as when his guru knows about his stray thoughts and when his guru tells him about a fruit hes gonna eat years in advance which Paramhansa later tells happens exactly as his guru foretold ...Also reading that Sathya Sai Baba is all knowing. and being god realized...This means knowing everything about a person including their future and past......Correct me if im wrong but this fact right here PROVES DIRECTLY that THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE IS ALREADY PLAYED OUT.....Everything from start to end has already been planned...every thought you ever have or had has been preprogrammed...every word you say has been played out...me writing this has been preprogrammed....9/11 was preprogrammed, every person you meet or have met...EVERYTHING ....The steps you take...That fine ass chick that you passed at Walgreens....The time at which you brush your teeth...you reading this at the certain time you read this....Your ENTIRE LIFE INCLUDING EVERYTHING IN IT has been preplanned...Which means everything is happening exactly as it should be....for what reason IDK...But i suspect that karma is involved in it..such as you can either have a good life or bad life depending on your Karma ..obviously Steve Pavlina has good karma if karma is involved....Ive heard the expression that "GOD HAS A PLAN FOR EVERYONE" Ive also heard that eventually EVERONE will be enlightened...Any thoughts about if this violates free will..?? Im also curious ,since everything is already played out, why are certain things happening to us (such as why our earth is getting so messed up with ozone depletion and pollution ..etc) ??? Also if us knowing all this affects the outcome of our life????PPPPPLEASE RESPOND ANYTHING IS APPRECIATED PEACEEEEEEE |

A Master can certainly tap directly into your thoughts and can also have incredible insight into the near and distant future. But the future is not predetermined - it is like a hand with each finger pointing in a LIKELY possible future. The psychic has the ability to pick up on LIKELY outcomes - or THE MOST LIKELY outcome. The closer in time the event - the easier to predict. Its much like the weather forecast - tomorrows forecast is a near certainty whereas 7 days is like 50 - 50. |

If the future wasn't predeterminded then people wouldn't be capable of becoming ALL knowing...but People(everyone) are capable of becoming all knowing therefore the future is predetermined....I think its funny how people strive for complete enlightenment yet the buddha tells us the next person to be enlightened is Maitreya....Its almost disempowering..

I believe God's plan for us all is for us to expand and grow and return to the pure perfect energy from which we came. I don't believe in EVIL. I belive that evil is simply what happens when people take their free will and choose form and material things over peace and enlightenment. When you think of all the "evil" in the world, it ALL goes back to form or material or ego. I believe that everything within your experience gives you a choice to grow and expand enlightenment or seek material and form. As far as everything being already played out, I don't know how I feel about that. I've read some very interesting books about out of body experiences where someone ended up observing what they described as an "alternate self" in a different setting with a different life. I know I've had dreams of bad things happening and just the act of relaying the info changed the events themselves. I think you always have free will. Very thought provoking question. |

Unattacted, I feel you are putting to much emphasis into what you have been told through books. The Buddha said this or that - how do you know? How do you even know if he was the real deal. Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying its one way or the other here. "In order to follow the path of knowledge, one has to be very imaginative. On the path of knowledge, nothing is as clear as we'd like it to be." ~ Carlos Castaneda "Nothing in this world is a gift. Whatever must be learned must be learned the hard way." ~ Carlos Castaneda. The future is not predetermined so to speak. You could say ALL FUTURES are played out and we choose a path to move on. Yogananda was probably going to stay on the path he was on and Sri Yukeswar was looking at how that path plays out. The confusing part is there's no time. Everything is happening now. It's like every possible permutation of experience you could have is on a spinning hard disk and you can use direct access to go to anyone of those at any time. We perceive our reality mainly through the mind and the mind is linear. It can't process "everything-all-at-once" so it lays events out in "logical" order to experience the world. That is the birth of time, past, and future. So is our life predetermined? Everything is, already... there is no beginning or end outside the mind. There are many paths and your level of consciousness determines the path you move down. While on your path do you get to choose? No. It's like you are a passenger in a train. You can try all you want to steer the train, but all is for naught... you go where the tracks go. Your resistance to the experiences as you are moving on the tracks, for a large part, determines your level of consciousness. The more reception you have for your ride (your experiences) allows you to travel on different tracks. Resistance shows up as another set of tracks (experiences). When you become conscious, then you get to choose the experiences and are unbound by the tracks. Here's an excellent video to see the difference between linear and non-linear experiences.
