Some therapists combine physical massage with reiki healing, another one may be into combining dream therapy with cranial sacral therapy.

What are the pros and cons of being experimental?

All approaches to healing should be holistic in nature. As a being, we have four main attributes to our existence - Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit. All four must be involved to effect true healing.

Any approach that concentrates on only one of these aspects, no matter how well it deals with that aspect, is still only working on one quarter of the overall issue.

Even focusing on two of the four is still only 50% of what needs to be dealt with.

So, "mix-matching" as you're calling it, is not only a good idea, it's essential and is the foundation of any Shamanic Healer's Path.
