| We all know what it's like to be involved in endless thinking. The mind enjoys thinking as much as the eye delights in the sight of a beautiful flower. An alternative to obsessive thinking is awareness of the present moment, which I find most soothing. What are your experiences of pure consciousness? Guided Meditation |

| I would post my experience with pure consciousness, but can't with words :P Regardless I find being aware an infinitely better state than thinking.

| I had some very good experiences with pure consciousness..but I was high on LSD.(2 hits)..Whenever i take LSD it always ends up being the best night of my life....The happiest ive ever been has been when i was on LSD...Also being a meditator I get three times as high...If i hit some shitty ass weed its pretty much like an acid trip(4 hours) with just pure consciousness.....Pure consciousness is thousands of times better then logical thinking and shittttt.......PEACEEE |

| A deep sense of peace, where nothing is serious or dramatic, but everything is important. The whole world is connected, and we are all one. The world opens itself up like a gift and presents itself to you, just to be opened and enjoyed. People are all wonderful. Everybody is lovable and worthy of being on this wonderful world. The earth, sky and everything in between is just there to be. There's no struggle, no rush, no pain or suffering. Only existance and possibility. Anything really is possible, giving a starting point of acceptence. Suddenly there's nothing but clarity as you see what power you really do have, and that talking and thinking is just a person created illusion. The only thing left to do is live. |

| That's a good question since most of us probably got different ideas about consciousness - not to mention pure consciousness... Pure consciousness to me is a state of mind that is free from thought. It sounds simple and it is but let me elaborate on it for easy understanding: 1. It's a natural state of mind, not a trance. 2. It's a mind state characterized by awareness. 3. There are no thoughts going through your head. 4. Awareness without thinking. We normally engage in endless thinking processes but as the thinking subsides, all that's left is awareness of our sense impressions or the present moment if you like - that's pure consciousness to me. This state of mind is soothing and relaxing. Thinking has its place, no doubt about that but thinking also causes us a lot of stress and unease... An alternative is to be aware or mindful while thinking. This way you'll be grounded or anchored in soothing awareness. You can experience pure consciousness too. It's not an intellectual theory, but rather a natural state of awareness. This is just my way of looking at pure consciousness and I'm open for other definitions and approaches. Guided Meditation |

| To me, pure consciousness is the same as a dream. In a dream (non-lucid) you have a dream body that is whisked from one event to another, from one flowing moment to another. You sort of take a back seat in your dreams, and witness everything happening. Now imagine that sort of detachment, but in your waking life. When you truly experience life, everything seems spontaneous, like it was meant to happen. Your actions and the actions of others seem to be led by some divine force, and everything radiates with positive energy. Everything seems to happen on your cue. From one moment to the next your consciousness is able to witness the miraculous dance of life. All you gotta do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. |

| Really, I would have described it as opposite to a dream

| Maybe it's because our awareness was triggered by different events. One of my most recent realizations was heavily influenced by watching "Slacker" and "Waking Life" by Richard Linklater. Who knows, maybe I'll wake up again and experience consciousness as you do. |
