Hey ho! I just want to share an interesting experience I made these days: 1.I was in the movies watching "The Eye" a few days ago. It was quite scary. At least there was some kind of monster that quite scared me. When I was at home at night I thought of course of this monster. I thought about it standing in my flat and I became afraid. Then suddenly I saw the surroundings: I saw my book shelf and became aware that this is real, while this monster just exists in my head. Now I wasn't scared at all! Also all of the things in my room looked more real. I realised that I had reacted to a reality that existed just in my fantasy. 2. I was lying in bed, trying to sleep. In my mind I created a sound pattern of a rock guitar which played a cool melody. It played again, again, again and again. Suddenly I realised that this sound is not real. I became very aware of the sound of my computer and the silence of the room. I realised how void the sound of reality was - so completely different than the loud noisy reality in my head. It was awesome and seemed special to me. I also noticed that the sound I had created in my head had been very realistic so that I wasn't really aware that I had created it in my head. These two experiences were so interesting. They show to me how you create your perspective on reality. Besides it's a good example of how much you are in involved in percieving reality, reacting to it and creating feelings. So if you're in a negative state, in which you don't want to be, you might try to get out of your mind-created perspective, let your thoughts go, and watch. Its a moot point. If you perceive yourself as a dumbass, you are no matter how smart you are and people will treat you accordingly. On the other hand if you perceive yourself as the greatest in the universe, you're still not going to be it and people will call you delusional/insane/selfish. Believing yourself to be a great person will increase your pride and self-confidene, but not necessarily your performance. That's why I'm a realist and I don't try to force perceptions on myself like, "I am omnipotent," or "I am already a millionaire," or "I am already famous." For a start, anyone who goes round telling other people they are the greatest in the universe is of course asking for trouble! Believing in yourself and your ability to be the best that you can possibly be will increase your pride, self-confidence AND your performance. It is a scientific fact that your mind believes what you tell it. When you say to yourself (you don't have to say it to others) that you are already rich, your mind will create the opportunities and ideas to create that in your life. We create our own reality. What you focus on is what tends to turn up in your life. We're not talking about going round telling people lies about yourself, we're talking about focusing on a vision. You can choose a positive one or a negative one - but whatever you believe, that's what will be your reality. Ros | |

| I think confidence should come from loving yourself, not from judgeing how well you do. Everyone perceives her/himself in a special way. But what I wanted to say with my post is that it might be a good way to break the pattern in which your mind thinks about your reality so you don't limit yourself anymore. |

| Believe you have the ability to become a billionaire? One perspective I have of self-belief is as enabling/disabling willingness to do a task. Example: - Would you be willing to work towards becoming a billionaire believing yourself unable to become a billionaire? - Would you be willing to work towards becoming a billionaire believing yourself able to become a billionaire? |
