Restrikted will become famous soon enough
Default If you harmed someone, would you apologize to a random person on the subway?

I was in the shower and found myself thinking about religion...again. I just realized that Christians ask God's forgiveness for their sins. Why? Shouldn't you ask forgiveness from the people you've wronged? As the title says, if you harmed someone, would you apologize to some random person? Why do they ask for God's forgiveness if they harmed someone else? Just something that struck me as very peculiar...

On a side note, if God was truly benevolent wouldn't he allow everyone into heaven, instead of saying "piss off" to the ones who didn't believe in him or failed to repent?

Default

God is BIG. People tend to downsize him her it. I have heard it said that man woman have made God in their image. I am learning how not to do that anymore. Basically God is what you think it is. You dont know the stranger in the subway. nobody does so how if we dont know him or her can we possibly claim to know .god, I suggest you refresh your mind and when you next see a stranger dont apologise just look at him or her with deep and profound respect. The Christian Sacrament of Confession originally was a place where a person could go to have a human being witness the fact that they were sorry for wrongdoings. The witness then was able to recognise the persons desire to do right and assure them of forgiveness. It did not have punishment written all over it. It was all about love and reconciliation. Somewhere down the line things all went wrong. I think there is a serious attempt to return to the loving nature of God.Religion is slow to change. We must be patient with it and we must allow it to transform. Its only folk doing what theyre told to after all. Meanwhile we are evolving and that takes a whole lot of patience too. something ive been well short of today myself! I spent years thinking I needed forgiveness from God not knowing that God cannot even conceive of sin in me. I rather feel sorry for people who still think God keeps a Book of Wrongs and we wont get out till we have paid the last penny. its crippling youre right, but lets not trash them. They are after all our brothers and sisters and a whole lot of us would not have life if some of them hadnt got together and given it to us. The time will come. Meanwhile give them a break for as a famous Jew once said DADDY FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY DO.hehe!
